I have a friend who is jumping into watercolor play. She took her paints with her on a trip to Berlin Germany. Can you believe she made time to send me a treat from across the sea?
How cool is that?
Yummy!
In other news... I picked some apples and pears from our trees yesterday. We don't spray, so the fruit is a bit marred... still delicious. Last night we enjoyed a pear-walnut torte for dessert. 😋
So the card in today’s 3MM is her watercolor? WYSIWYG 😁 (What you see is what you get!) Actually that acronym refers to a type of web editing software. It fit my thoughts.
Joni Mitchell sang, “Give me spots on the apples, But leave me the birds and the bees” As the song continues,
Gail, I am so happy that it made it to you! I had so much fun making and mailing them out each day I was in Berlin. I have never water colored in my life... well maybe as a kid. But I found a woman on Instagram that shows you step by step how to make art!
In Berlin I got to finally meet my son Macklin’s girlfriend whom he is going to marry! Jen is a wonderful person and with her I get her daughter, Lilo! I bought the paints as an ice breaker for her and I do to. We all did them! Such fun!
I am so tickled by all of the inspiration I receive from Instagram. Glad to here you are finding it too! So many generous souls sharing what they make and how they do it… painting, food, dog training, public speaking…
What an age we live in!
Thank you for sharing your adventure with us here!
❤️💜💚
And thanks for mailing me the watercolor. What a treat!
I don’t remember Steve and Blue? I must say that the clip you chose is close to matching the energy of the watermelon popsicle and it’s accompanying message.
Oddly for me, it seems like the Summer Solstice was just last week! The shortening day theme brings to mind Willie Nelson’s lyrics on September Song:
“Oh it’s a long, long while
From May to December
But the days grow short
When you reach September
When the Autumn weather
Turns leaves to flame
One hasn’t got time
For the waiting game”
While a bit maudlin as it continues, it shows how we note and mark the passing of seasons. Cool, fall air arriving! Multi-colored leaves beneath maple and hickory trees! Then the parade of holidays through the end of the year! Oh, Joy! (It’s already Hallowe’en at Home Depot🎃)
The days past are just that. Weather has been a bit fast and furious, yet attitudes of gratitude are available! “Idalia didn’t clobber my home. July wasn’t so hot as to require frequent basting with Sweet Baby Rays. And the rainy mold-spore months saved on our water/sewer bill!
So in the spirit of watermelon popsicles, may the brain freeze be gentle as well.

That you don’t know what you got ‘til it’s gone
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot”
The tortes sound yumiful! 😋
Yes! My friend created that luscious painting!
The torte is an old recipe given to me by my MIL, Easy to make. Light. Scrumptious.

Blue's Clues was popular when the kid was a toddler. I sing the song to Henny when we stop pick up the mail. 🤣 Some things are sticky!
"One hasn't got time... for the waiting game."
Melancholy? Or exciting?!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qE7u87hniR0
A grocery store I visit has ceramic ghost planters wearing the Packer's logo near their entrance/exit. We are a funny species!
In a bit of irony... Henny went out for a swimming playdate this morning and is home now with a limp and painful swimmer's tail. Poor girl. :(
Grateful that's all it is. Someone has gone in search of doggy pain relievers.
“Maudlin”, as it continues, (the song) was the basis of that remark. It goes:
“Oh the days dwindle down
To a precious few
September, November
And these few special days
I’ll spend with you”
Then again, hanging out with you and 3 MM, the Gratitude Spaces, I don’t see the downside. 🤷🏽😉
Oops! I thought of melancholy and maudlin as synonyms and though close, they are different. Thank you Web Search for clarifying. :)
Maudlin: Sad and sentimental, perhaps from drinking alcohol.
So glad to have you hanging out with us Gary!
Willie did enjoy a beer now and then...
