In Poise there is a chapter about my stylist who made space in her schedule to shave my head ASAP when I texted to let her know my hair had started to drop out in clumps.
I'm so glad to be back on her regular schedule.
She is a magician for my hair, my heart, and my soul.
“Start your day, a little bit better, a little bit better with Post.” An old jingle for, yes, Post Cereal. These days I’m still starting my day a little bit better with posts, 3MM variety. 😉
Today’s post was a delight!
“If you’re going, to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair,” sang Scott McKenzie in 1967. (Written by John Phillips of The Mamas and the Papas)
Have you been inspecting my sentimental jukebox? If I needed to purge my jukebox to make room for other songs, the process could be agonizing. Or refreshing... Letting go.
The comment on Einstein’s hairdresser caused me to wonder if he nicked Mark Twain’s? 😐
Last, I was heartened to learn that Nia has a sentimental filing cabinet. Great minds and all that.
I see no trace of harm in something quirky grounding us in our lives. Did the stylist have a good sense of humor? Was her clientele women only? I go to an old timey barbershop that employs one female barber. They have to be certified as “barbers” to wield a straight razor, which they all use to clean up the neck and ear zones. They shave customers as well. A woman with a straight razor held to my neck is cause for pause. 😳
I never met the stylist. I just walked by her shop when we lived in West Milwaukee. I’ve been blessed with morning black Labrador strolls for three decades!

Thank you for the jingle and your appreciation! ‘Tis a highlight of our day to be here telling a story.
Haha! I like the dots you connected between Einstein and Twain. 😂
The sign in the old two or three chair beauty shop cracked me up every time I saw it!

Walks with an emissary of Great Spirit!
Each one brought exactly the lessons/growth I needed.
Henny unearthed Thalia. 😂
I might have known! Once Tal started musing, did Nia and Cal spontaneously show up? A settling of the dust? Things falling into place? Meteorites...
