Lots to ponder, Gail. Here's my favorite quote about sheep. (It will appear in my book somewhere.) "If you’re acting like a sheep, do not blame the shepherd.” Papaji (Sri H.W.L. Poonja)
Love it! A local friend raises New Zealand “Backnose Sheep.” All white but for black mugs, ears, and booties. And can’t begin to hold a candle to the sweet face of your sheep!
Their superpower? Their wool grows at a phenomenal rate, and they come with their own Woolite!
Please help me remember to never ask to borrow your wings. Quite certain the fate of Icarus would befall me!
Last, ask your dancer extraordinaire, Tal, to give a listen to “Wooly Bully” by Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs from 1965. A fun song and easy to dance to. Why, you may want to cut a rug yourself! 😂 CURE!
I’ve told Gail that I’m an ancient Juke Box with a line or two from scads of songs! I just now remembered the devices at the tables in Thelma’s Diner. Dimes, possibly even nickels, and flip pages inside the device allowed play of “B-17”. The classic, “Please, mister, please. Don’t play B-17. It was our song, it was your song, but it’s over.” 🤔😉
I felt a great sense of warmth during the exchanges I enjoyed today. All thanks to a sparkling collection of fine folks herein. And no small thanks to you. I struggled a long while to learn to comfortably receive a compliment. To acknowledge good results from my efforts. Without that giving me a big head. Does your arm reach your back? 😉 pat, pat.
Here’s a thought that often skips through the spaces of my brain: were it not for Gail’s skillfulness - of kindness, curiosity, connection - how would many of us have ever crossed paths?
She seems in part a catalyst (that is usually defined as an item that speeds up a process). Yet to do so from “zero velocity” to exchanges like ours just now seems far beyond being a catalyst.
A true creator in the kindest sense of the word! Superpower? 😁
Don't know if I have ever met anybody following this but I do know that Pennie R.S.Nelson is related to one of my aunts. I don't remember exactly how. I've never met Pennie but I do consider part of my family. One day I would love to meet her. When I read everybody's posts it seems we all have endured some of the same problems and enjoyed some of the same triumphs. We all need to remember not to give up and to coun everything as learnng experiences. You, sir, remind me sooo much of my daughter. She remembers our army life from the years of her dad's enistments. She still follows the Op-sec rules. Don't tell anybody anything.
In the early course of my life I became a very guarded individual, keeping most everyone at bay. Learning stuff was a way to feel successful, superior. Worthwhile. So then I could use the knowledge as part of my shield.
Retaining much of the early information while learning to rely less on a shield to navigate life has been an adventure. Gail’s comments about being willing to risk vulnerability for the purpose of being open, accessible, and accountable made intuitive good sense. Though not always easy to do.
Thank you for expressing your take on my top heavy reliance on “science, facts, and jargon” that often serves little purpose for connection. I find that helpful and kind. 🙏🏽
Gail? Hey Gail?! Now see what you made us do. Having boundless fun while (for me) hunkering down under a tornado watch! This won’t be taken lightly! 🤣😂☺️
Paintist 🎨 As I expressed in my text, this style of #Art is in your essence! I am reminded of some of your other whimsical work! Most importantly, the question from the text of the message truly deserves proper consideration… I believe my superpower is the YOUnique ability to see in others what they can’t yet see in themselves. I also believe, everyone has a superpower and it was placed in your heart, in your soul, before you were ever born. Our one responsibility while we’re here on this planet is to do our best to discover that gift and share it with the rest of the world the same way Gail is openly sharing with all of us… #Inspired! 🙏🏼🕊

Love that quote! Thanks for sharing here.
Did you ever see the documentary Kumare? It opened my eyes to the guru/follower relationship.

Rilke: Live the unanswered questions in your heart.
I hadn't heard of that documentary, but it sounds fascinating. I put it on my to-watch list!
I watched it shortly after beginning yoga practice… I could see so clearly how the followers were drawn to a guru they thought could guide them.
Around the same time, I started to learn about the teacher/guru within… peeling back the layers and living my own questions. ♥️

Fun song indeed!
Oh my goodness, that song instantly popped into my head as I read it. LOL

Something about this conversation is reminding me of Happy Days and Laverne&Shirley. :)

Seeing the connections and conversations in 3mm comments brings a huge smile to Typist’s face! 😃
Feel the feelers! (Agreement)
I love those two shows... I wish a network would put them back on.
Yeah, I remember seeing those boxes. Too funny.

Aww Margaret, you are so sweet. Well, I know that you are friends with the Hinds family. They are my cousins. Gert Hinds is my Aunt.
That is very true. And I enjoy the words that come out of your brain. Your intellect is a bit intimidating to me but I enjoy reading your responses.

Not quite gentle breezes with cedar limbs dancing?
No. More like “Slam Dancing” from a few years ago. Concussions optional.
It’s all good. 🙏🏽

Thanks Bobby! I too believe everyone has a superpower — a gift to share.
T-shirt: “When this whole virus thing is over, I still want most of you to stay the hell away from me!” 😁
Deb got a LOL from your sheep and caption!
Somebody said they liked the ambiguity… Exactly how does the grass turn into wool? 😂
Do they understand the "superpower" thing? If anybody could do it, it wouldn't be super! 😊
Have you ever eaten really great barbecue? With too much sticky sauce? 😉
😂🤣😂
