A note from LoveLetterist:

There's an ongoing yard project that I'm watching from a distance.

I find joy in letting go, and observing others lead, in areas that I used to think of as "mine".

I see a win-win of new experiences all around.

This morning in Simple Abundance by Sarah Ban Breathnach (I'm a bit behind? or right on time!... from September first's meditation) I read:

"It seems to me that January resolutions are about will; September resolutions are about authentic wants."

Watching our gardens grow is so... rewarding!

The yard project! Hmmm... the deer eating the last of the fallen apples as you watch from the window?

I enjoyed the quote by Sarah Ban Breathnach. And your comment on watching our gardens grow. I just remembered the fall tilling in of winter wheat! Paradoxical in several ways. To plant a crop before the coldest days of the year; then the surprise in seeing the rows of bright green shoots in early spring signaling the forthcoming crop.

It seems counter-intuitive to plant wheat or bulbs at this this time of year? and yet some plants need winter to be able to bloom.

If you want to understand life better... look to nature.

I'm not allowed to buy bulbs anymore. Something about we don't have enough room to plant the old ones when I thin out the overgrown patches...

I'm thinking about sneaking into parks or medians or other "unowned" land and planting excess bulbs on the sly. Maybe at night to avoid detection, or in the day with a day-glo vest (but I'd have to buy the vest) because anybody with a vest MUST be official, right? Same as someone with a clipboard/iPad in a warehouse...

Didn't I recently write about the acres of daffodils I once saw in a magazine -- all planted by one woman who added year upon year.

Also -- I see random clumps of daffodils, tulips, iris, and day lilies in wild areas sometimes. Little gifts of color! :)

Cheering you on!

I love this idea Jack! What an adventure. And thank you all for the bulb planting inspiration!

Tickled once again! By how you nudge this reader to the next rabbit hole and, by sleight of hand and word, encourage the final step. A painted upon page from Poise, bearing Castaneda’s quote, flanked by a jar holding drawist’s tools. Adorned by what is undoubtedly the golden gleam of fairie dust! Just for a beginning!

I could send you my step on bulb planter if the scope of daffodil planting needs such firepower. 😊

At the bottom of my rabbit hole, and your post, I saw Roy T. Bennett. An interesting person in his opposition to Robert Mugabe (an authoritarian tyrant) in Zimbabwe. Do you have his book?

As always I’m grateful for you stimulating my thinking and providing positive messaging!

Roy T. Bennet... I've taken to looking up the people whose quotes I post, but missed Roy this morning.

I have not read The Light in the Heart.

Thank you for your appreciation!
