Thalia closes her eyes and feels wind rush through her hair. “Wooooo-hooooooooooo! I luuuuuuuhv a motor!” Calliope clutches her seat with both hands. Nią contemplates Tal’s need-for-speed juxtaposed with Cal’s plodding pace. “There is time —” she shrugs, “for fast
Yesterday I thoroughly enjoyed a family outing to a local lake without my paddle.
In myself I observed solid trust of a kid who has been building his boating skills -- piece by piece -- step by step -- trials, errors, successes -- over the course of many years.
I’m on Tal’s team. A thrill seeker? Quite certain - when the fair set up each fall (while in my 50’s) I looked for the rides where everyone was screaming! Accompanying friends had no interest...
Somehow I remember an exchange that included the LUND brand of bass boats. The single Mercury engine made me smile. In this age of “more is more” it’s not uncommon to see a bass boat sporting twin Yamaha 150’s around here. 🤷🏽
Nia’s metaphor about “the quality of the build determines how far - and how fast - we go” surely applied to yesterday’s outing. And seemed to embrace other figurative “builds.” 3MM being just one example. Or the lives we strive for in our growth?
I was just talking with my neighbor about the fair this morning! He and his young family are going to the Wisconsin State Fair. I get to go next week to see Lindsey Sterling in concert at the grandstand.
The kid is still getting by without a bass boat. No doubt he’ll have his dream double-engined bass boat one day. Then I’ll need a seatbelt!
Looking back at where I came from, I feel both quenched and thirsty for more!
So, a bass boat isn’t what you do with a boat? Rather, what the boat looks like? So when I took my Old Town canoe to the Gulf and rode the surf to shore, I wasn’t surfing?😆

What fun! To see my growth entwined with another.
For everything else there’s MasterCard! 😁
Awwwwww!!!💚💚💚

Always a lover of metaphors. 😁

I love this idea of “Quenched AND Thirsty for More!”
Nothing like a great paradox to get the creative juices, er, uhm, muses inspired! 😉
Seems to have worked!
Lindsey Sterling sounds like fun!
