If you're evolving, you shouldn't be the same. So someone says, "Oh, you've changed" -- yes, consider that a compliment, right? You want to change, you want to be different, you want to grow.
I appreciate the wisdom woven into today’s LoveLetter. I believe getting stuck in a “woe is me” predicament is far from uncommon, and not of our own design. The Fourth of July you wrote of when you were a ten year old child consists of being thwarted in your desire to see your mom. Alone in a kiddie waiting room and lacking any comforting words or arms, parades and fireworks offered a delightful escape!
Having the emotional intelligence to process the feelings and circumstances at that age would be the fate of many at your age. Remaining stuck in that mindset, accompanied by guilt, reminds me of a baby bird having to peck its way out of its shell to reach the oxygen in the air outside! Usually with no help from bystanders.
The comments from The Muses tied a perfect bow on your description of the forces we might struggle with in our self-portrayals as we continue our journey. 🙇🏻
And now I am reminded of a story about a traveler who cuts open a chrysalis for a struggling butterfly. Guess what? Freed without the struggle, it cannot fly because it has not built the muscle strength.
I am incredibly grateful for all of the life mentors who have not tried to save me by cutting open my chrysalis, but instead have nudged and gently provoked me to keep going and growing.
Ahhhh! Has the advent of the internet made this easier than ever? Because of my participation in a Creative Workshop through Akimbo, I have been gifted connection with people all over the world. Also, this thriving 3mm community that feeds my soul.
I spent part of yesterday listening to a presentation by Wynton Marsalis. Looking forward to listening to the rest. I did myself blown away by this mans wisdom, awareness, humor, and knowledge. I think I just found myself another role model.

A compliment indeed!
Changing is starting. Starting is changing.
I found the courage to change 33 years ago TODAY!
I changed, one day at a time...
Slowly, over time, as my courage and confidence grew, I transformed. However, I still lived one day at a time. Always, one day at a time...

Thank you for your appreciation!
Singing comes to mind. (I did listen to Molly Tuttle’s “Take The Journey”)
Duets, trios, quartets, choirs. All rely on harmony to successfully blend voices. The lead tenor doesn’t become the soprano!
I believe that in singing our life song we would do well to find others that sing on key and understand the importance of harmony.

Wow.
Thank you… I think.
And then there are those of us whose minds go in different directions...
Evolution
Revolution
Gun control
Sound of soul
Shooting rockets to the moon
Kids growing up too soon
Politicians say “More taxes will solve everything!”
