Thalia looked at two decorative stars on siding and wrinkled her nose. “Something about modern next to viiiin-tej — just looks — bad.”
“Aesthetically, yes.” Nia agrees, before weighing in with an opinion. “Referencing the old in light of the present — is valuable.”
“A guide…” Calliope puts her hand over her heart, “… where we’ve been… lights the way forward.”
Those who won our independence believed liberty to be the secret of happiness.

I appreciate the wisdom woven into today’s LoveLetter. I believe getting stuck in a “woe is me” predicament is far from uncommon, and not of our own design. The Fourth of July you wrote of when you were a ten year old child consists of being thwarted in your desire to see your mom. Alone in a kiddie waiting room and lacking any comforting words or arms, parades and fireworks offered a delightful escape!
Having the emotional intelligence to process the feelings and circumstances at that age would be the fate of many at your age. Remaining stuck in that mindset, accompanied by guilt, reminds me of a baby bird having to peck its way out of its shell to reach the oxygen in the air outside! Usually with no help from bystanders.
The comments from The Muses tied a perfect bow on your description of the forces we might struggle with in our self-portrayals as we continue our journey. 🙇🏻
