Wow! The whole of all my thoughts and feelings around this has me singing, “It’s all too beautiful.” From the song, “Itchycoo Park” released in 1967. Before reading today’s 3mm I had considered sending Paintist/Typist this advice: “When you go for upcoming appointments always have The Muses holding your hands.” Yep. Right there in the sub-title.
And Cal, Nia, and Tal! Playing a game with a murderer in your midst? And you persisted in the game despite having already learned his or her identity?! A little risky don’t you think?
Today’s painting… My take on the “bomb” reference was “These are the apples.” But Paintist, that’s in no way a critique of your efforts but more than likely that my upcoming eye exam will have the optometrist singing, “There’ll be some changes made.”
I, too, have developed a strong liking and admiration for President Zelenskyy of Ukraine. It’s simply not enough to note his remarkable leadership ability. We can’t overlook his appearing on a show not unlike Dancing With The Stars. Or doing the voice for a Ukrainian version of Paddington Bear! I’ve started following a diverse group of Ukrainian citizens on Twitter and their Tweets made me aware of his other “talents.”
When he was elected in 2019 as president, I often heard in our media that Ukraine had elected a comedian to be their President! Yup, another hat he’s worn. But in videos of his remarks recently, there’s no clown show. He strikes me as confident, inspiring, and 100% dedicated to Ukraine’s freedom from oppression and for looking to wholesale involvement of her citizens. An 80 year old woman familiarizing herself with a semi-automatic rifle in preparation to go to battle! A farmer stealing a Russian tank with his tractor!
“It’s all too beautiful.” And it’s delightful that you have three Muses. If one experiences a muscle cramp while holding your hand, just think of the process like tag team wrestling. Perhaps with a bit less body-slamming!
I love your friend's idea of having you take pictures of a recipe you like for her to whip up for you. If I lived nearby, I'd offer the same. Since that won't work, I'll make up for it with hearty well wishes and sweet virtual hugs. Good luck this week, Gail.
A present subjunctive walked into a bar hoping that he be able to order a drink. 😁
The subjunctive is a grammatical mood, a feature of the utterance that indicates the speaker's attitude towards it. Subjunctive forms of verbs are typically used to express various states of unreality such as: wish, emotion, possibility, judgement, opinion, obligation, or action that has not yet occurred; the precise situations in which they are used vary from language to language. The subjunctive is one of the irrealis moods, which refer to what is not necessarily real. It is often contrasted with the indicative, a realis mood which is used principally to indicate that something is a statement of fact. [Wikipedia]
okay... Jack, this is harder to follow than the direction I have for my super bug killing shower soap ritual that I will commence shortly and repeat in the a.m.
HEY! Hold out your hand! {*smack*} Nobody says my friend Karen isn’t a real writer! Not even my friend Karen! Not even in jest! My friend Karen is a WONDERFUL writer and an empathic observer of life! Don’t you forget it! 🤨
You got me smiling, Jack :) I'll hold out my hand, but only to pat you on the back for being such a great guy. Gail is lucky to call you "friend." Me too.

"Most people are good and the world is full of light, if only we choose to see." This is an important reminder to hold in our hearts these days Gail.

Last grammar lesson, I promise! 😝

My brain is like a cold limp fish.
Then let it go, Gail. Tomorrow's will be easier. (And dumb. But easier!)
Maybe someday, when I'm a real writer, I'll be able to understand that, Jack, lol. Does it mean the subjunctive is somewhat subjective?
