In the final days of 2021, Typist fancied some writer’s suggestion to choose three guiding principles to carry into 2022. She chose: LIVE, ASK, and COLLABORATE A c-diagnosis on February 11 gave new meaning to how she’d waltz with the words… “LIIIIIIIVVVVVVVV is ahhhhhbbb-ve-ussss!” Thalia’s recovery from Covid allowed for some light jumping-jacks. “She took a lickin’ and is still kickin’ — like that watch.”
Yea!!!! Live, ask, collaborate, and hippo drawings. Wonderful New Years Eve. For 12/31, I've spent the night on Rose Bowl Parade route (twice). I've partied in a foreign country. Tonight, when my daughter throws her party downstairs and I chill upstairs might be one of the most fulfilling. GIVE, LEARN, ACCEPT.
From writist’s, drawist’s, creativist’s recent focus on very large creatures, my instinct senses great expectations for her 2023! And would that it be so. 😊
For one and all may the spirit of hopeful expectations prevail as the days unfold. 🥳🎉🎊
“And now we welcome the new year, full of things that have never been.”
~Rainer Maria Rilke
Where to begin?
Ok, how about my three words since it’s part of this thread...
Awareness
Wonder
Encouragement
AND
Last year’s three that served me so well…

The Intended result for 2023? “
AWESUM!
By reflecting on the magic of 2022, it is my intention to carry over some of that “glitter” into 2023.
The AWE sits in front of the SUM.
The SUM created the foundation for what I’m choosing to bring with me into 2023!
The AWE will guide me in more intentional decision making by having me check every potential YES against the elements AWE represents for me.
AWE:
AWARENESS
Awareness - By repeatedly focusing on the breath, and noticing when our mind wanders, we naturally start to develop awareness of where our mind is and where it’s going.
“The first step toward change is awareness. The second step is acceptance.”
~Nathaniel Branden
“Awareness is like the sun. When it shines on things, they are transformed.”
~Thich Nhat
WONDER
Wonder - desire or be curious to know something.
Etymology:
Wonder comes from the Old English word wundor, which means "marvelous thing, the object of astonishment."
Both the noun and the verb
What is the true meaning of wonder?
: rapt attention or astonishment at something awesomely mysterious or new to one's experience. : a feeling of doubt or uncertainty.
“Philosophy begins in wonder. And, at the end, when philosophic thought has done its best, the wonder remains.”
~Alfred North Whitehead
“May you experience each day as a sacred gift woven around the heart of wonder.”
~John O’Donohue
“The world is full of magic things patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.”
~William Butler Yeats
ENCOURAGE (MENT)
Encourage - verb (transitive) to inspire (someone) with the courage or confidence (to do something) to stimulate (something or someone to do something) by approval or help...
Etymology:
encourage (v.)
early 15c., from Old French encoragier "make strong, hearten," from en- "make, put in" (see en- (1)) + corage "courage, heart" (see courage). Related: Encouraged; encouraging; encouragingly.
Encourage -
“Be an Encourager: When you encourage others, you boost their self-esteem, enhance their self-confidence, make them work harder, lift their spirits and make them successful in their endeavors. Encouragement goes straight to the heart and is always available. Be an encourager. Always.”
Roy T. Bennett
“Instruction does much, but encouragement everything."
~(Letter to A.F. Oeser, Nov. 9, 1768)
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
So that’s AWE, and my three words, my three guiding principles for 2023.
To embed these words, I will write them every morning and every night as I’m expressing gratitude for the day I’m about to embrace and then in Gratitude at the end of the day for ALL it afforded me…
I am at this very moment now going to return to my reflection for 2022.

KISMIF
“Keep It Simple, Make It Fun.”
Using a simple “T” format of less and more across the top of the page with a line down the center.
I will first write out my Less/More list composed of the things I want do less of and the things I choose to do more of.
I will then do my Stop/Start list because I know I must stop certain things to create space and time for the things I choose to start, so I will list my stops and my starts.
Finally, I will list my continues.
A perfect example of a continue is my commitment to art. I will continue to embrace art as a tool of creativity for me to access everything else I choose to bring into the world with intention!
More to follow… I’m stopping now so this does not become a Tome…
In #Gratitude for this newsletter, Typist AND The Girls, this community, and the breath I was gifted when I awakened this morning, something I don’t take for granted…
Deb was home in time for dinner, and we were lights-out at 10:40PM EST. Maybe somebody set off fireworks in the neighborhood, maybe not (it was raining when we went to sleep), we have no idea.
And in the morning I got to wake up next to my wonderful wife and perfect partner. AWESOME way to start 2023!

Happy New Year to you and to all of your personalities too!

Me, I could go either way. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Happy 2023, Gail! 😊🥳
