I fully agree that the daisies and shamrocks go quite well on the dark background!
Small world. We saw The Wiz yesterday, put on by a local professional theatre. Neither of us had seen it before (not even the movie) and we quite enjoyed it.
I’ve never read the book! All I have are my childhood memories of the Judy Garland film. Today at the show I remembered (?) that I had forgotten about the apple trees and the wicked witch’s bats.
The books (Baum did a whole series) were great! Characters that could only be done by CGI in a movie today, fantastical as they were. Made for awesome illustrations, though!
How completely delightful, Gail! Gary found the Raisa crumb. Very tasty.
I like today’s emphasis on being ourselves. Stepping off the garden hose if our intention is to “water” our gardens of personal growth. And at the same time we each are our own kinds of kinds. Words such as yours encourage the process of discovering who we are (insides) and how best to express ourselves. Sort of growing into our skin?
I realized from reading today’s post I’m more like the teacher in Harry Chapin’s song than I imagined. “Flowers are red, young man. And green leaves are green.” Hmmm, you ponder? The yellow/blue yarn is the shamrock? The pillow wearing a daisy is the “daisy pillow?” Even daisies grow tired? The mostly red object with swirls of threads and splashes of colors...🤔
“Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends.” Beatles, of course. And 3MM community.
I think seeing The Wizard of Oz with elementary school aged children would be fantastic.
On this St Patrick’s Day I imagine Tal’s shamrock will be one of the few you’ll see today. Lucky you!
The red yarn is a heart. Last year about this time I received a box in the mail from Ireland. Inside the box was another box -- hand painted and decorated by my friend Margaret's granddaughter. The shamrock and heart were among the gifts Margaret sent me. Just typing those sentences reminds of the blessings of my life!
The Wizard of Oz was beautifully executed! My friend Jeanne is doing an amazing job with the drama club she started at her elementary school this year. What a joy to watch!
Wow! All of it. My first thought on seeing TWoO I supposed a theatrical production with the students. Then I later reflected on TWoO and remembered the complexities, so I dismissed that notion.
Now you share that it was, indeed, a drama club production spearheaded by your obviously very talented friend. Love it.
Thank you Pennie! It is fun to paint/draw with white and color on a dark background. I found that because the black paper I have is drawing paper, I cannot use too much water because the paper can't handle it. The happy accident was discovering that a damp brush with heavy paint shows up well.

Thanks Jack!
I've never seen The Wiz. Does it follow the original story closely?
Interestingly, it followed the book more closely than the movie!

A brain can only hold so much?

Thanks for sharing Jack. I spent some time on Wikipedia exploring. :) Saw an illustration of Dorothy holding Toto by his ear.

I’ll bet even Nia had a great time.
I love that quote and I love your daisies. Nice work.

My pleasure. The littlest error's can flow into great works of art.
