“Casting lines, eh?” To catch unsuspecting community members whose thoughts may be more focused on today’s Super Bowl.

I have this gnawing feeling there’s some subterfuge employed in creator’s drawing today. A framed fish flicking fins? Then talk of calamari?? A door with ponderable panel perspective and a mysterious leg? Straight out of the Twilight Zone! Pencil tip erasers? And we just see the pencil point.

Nefarious I say! Inscrutable...

Like a visual chapter of a new book. I can’t wait for the next!

Now please tell me how completely I missed the whole point! Er, eraser. 🙃

The fish was originally going to be swimming out of the door, but I couldn’t seem to pull that off. 😂

The point of the pencil IS an eraser. How cool is that?

The point?

Try it my dear, maybe you just think you don’t like it because of what you’ve heard. 🤷‍♀️

Spangler... It was a mind trick! She said pencil ✏️ tip eraser but your mind thought “eraser tip” or probably more likely “eraser top.”

In all fairness a pencil tip and a pencil point ARE subtly different. AND a pencil tip and a pencil top ✏️🔝 are only one letter apart...

Here is a helpful link to solve the eraser mystery...

Thanks for clarifying Bobby!

Thanks for the eraser link. Long ago I used an eraser that resembled a pencil and “unpeeled” to expose new eraser. Totally forgot. If there was a mind trick it was self generated from hasty reading & interpreting! Many mea culpas...

Button: “My kid refused to take a nap. I told her she was guilty of resisting a rest…” 😁

I haven't seen one of those pencil-tip-erasers (I always thought of them as erasers in a pencil) in years! I always wondered if they would gum up a pencil sharpener...

I haven’t tried to sharpen one yet. 🤷‍♀️

I learned that realistic animal whiskers are made by erasing rather than drawing. In the clip I watched, the artis was using an eraser pencil. Haven’t tried that yet either!

Pencils, erasers, fish--it's always good to try again. As we grow, who knows how we'll respond the second (or third or fourth) time?
