Common themes? Better questions? Active listening? Seeking first to understand, and then be understood? Patience? Curiosity? Reserved Judgment?

I myself find the opposite to be true. New people are fascinating because I get to learn about them. An added bonus is they have no history with me either. I can show up as the truest self I am in that moment.

Expectations from both parties are at a minimum.

The joy! The enthusiasm is contagious. Seeing dogs connect like that is truly delightful! I think of such times as dogs reverting to their ancient ways. Hunting as a pack for instance.

The observation by C. S. Lewis seems also to apply to the “connectication”amongst readers of your love letters.
