Thank you for sharing the sketches and photos. Looks amazing and relaxing. Ben is an angel when we take road trips. Fresh air and nature is good for the souls of both pets and their humans.
The sketches are so alive. That’s Tal to a T. More lovely than I’ve ever seen her! The bird scavenging sunflower seeds is so vibrant. Are the swans year around citizens?
There’s a strong sense of renewal in this post. Bravo!
And another search! My Peterson bird book. Wintering swans. Most likely they are Trumpeter Swans that winter along the eastern seaboard. Chesapeake Bay. The Tundra Swans summer way north, but many winter around the Great Lakes and further south in the interior areas.
As for loons? Yes. I accidentally learned their call while learning to whistle using cupped hands and blowing between my thumbs. An August trip to Canada presented me with the same call sound. Attributing that to “campers or Boy Scouts” I returned their whistles. Oops! Then the loons came to us! Me? Delighted. The older woman in our boat? Not so much. That was after Alfred Hitchcock had just released “The Birds.” And we were out on the lake at dusk.
Someone got #Inspired! I love it! The picture’s, the sketches, the description of time well spent... The colors! I love Fall! How about those flowers that liberated themselves from the dress? Hey, this inspiration stuff is inspiring! 😂🤣😂
Pennie! How are you and your family… your home, after Ian?
Thank you for commenting on the drawings! I copied the sunflower/bird from a photograph. I read somewhere that it is easier to copy from a photo or drawing than “real life” because the image has already been translated into 2D. 😃
Yes I have found it easier to draw from a photo myself. As for the storm, my whole family down here made it through well. On the west coast of Florida, the hurricane hit way south of where some of my family live so everything is good. And then by me on the East coast of Florida we had some branches come down but all else is good. Very thankful to God for keeping us all safe and with no damage. Prayers though to all who have been hit hard by the storm. Thank you for asking Gail. Much love to you.
And thank you for commenting on 3mm today so that I had a nudge to ask! Your reply prompted me to send messages to a niece and nephew who live in FL… one in Tampa, the other near Orlando.

We were gifted beautiful fall weather which made the trip extra awesome! ☀️🍁🍂
The kid and I ate massive cookies and cream flurries after lunch. Does it get any better than that? 😂
I’m envisioning Ben on a camp out weekend with you. Such a sweet boy! Woof!
Window cracked! Imagine what Henny can smell!

I suspect the swans are headed south before the lakes freeze? There were lingering loons as well. 😎 I love the sound of their call.
And seeing the kid in "his environment" was lots of fun.

Gorgeous Henny! Bet she loved the road trip.
And she was such a good girl! Lots of walking, sniffing and swimming -- minimal barking. She was a joy to observe!
Maybe I need some walking, sniffing, and swimming too... Hmmm? 🤔
Soon! In Wisconsin! With me and the Quest crew! How wonder-full is that?!
About as wonder-full as one could ever hope for… I am beyond excited and dripping with anticipation!
So many senses to explore and the time and opportunity to explore together!

I also love fall, and spring, and summer, and winter. 😂
Any season's a good season for inspiration!
Nice job with the artwork. I especially love the bird with the sunflower. Henny looks like she's enjoying the fresh air up there too.

T-shirt: “‘Awesome’ ends in ‘me’ — coincidence? I think not.” 😁
(Deb told me to get this one for her. I think she was kidding. Can't always tell. 🤔)
Love the photo of Henry enjoying the autumn smells out the window! And the drawing of the figure wearing flowers recumbent on flowers.
