Nią kneads a hamstring that’s howling like a pack of coyotes after a midnight train whistle. Cal and Tal share glance, but say not a word. Calliope leads from her hip joints into a forward fold. Thalia works her balance. On screen, Kassandra uses a strap for support.
If I worked to attain Cal’s forward roll, I see two things happening:
1. I’d likely be frozen in her position from today’s drawing for quite some time.
2. With better effort for the forward roll I think I’d end up with Nia’s howling coyotes!
Years ago during my Medium reading days, I remember a woman that started a stretching practice to become more flexible. Limber. She regained 3/4 of an inch in height!
A couple verses from the recent cover of The Rolling Stones song, “You can’t always get what you want,” goes like this:
“You can’t always get what you want (x3),
But if you try some time you just might find,
You get what you need.”
Once 6’ 0” I’m down to 5’ 10 1/2” so stretching holds a certain appeal. 😬
I have done a few yoga routines from my Apple Exercise+ (through Apple TV). It is HARD! Also helped to have several “intro” segments to introduce the poses, since it seems like I spend an awful lot of the session not looking at the TV.
OTOH I have found through Pilates sessions (also Exercise+) that my hamstrings are too tight — I cannot stick my legs straight up when lying on my back. Ouch! Maybe more yoga would help?
you've got options

OTOOH I really just want a general tone up. <sigh> So mostly I stick to Strength and HIIT sessions. And Dance for general cardio. Although when I do it it’s more “Dance” in quotes. https://medium.com/weeds-wildflowers/chat-with-deb-dancing-with-my-wife-6e87a9e5af7b
