“Ahhhhhhhhh! Maaaaa-jik!” Thalia’s fingers — ideal for playing piano due to their length — slipped into gloves that looked like they were stitched for a toddler. “I’ve got my diving gloves on! Where are the keys? Let’s go!” “Absolutely not.” Urania snuck truck’s FOB into her pocket and took a chest-expanding breath. “We’re not — ready — yet.”
George Carlin: “Can a hearse carrying a corpse drive in the carpool lane?” 😁
Careless reading, mine, can lead to humorous results! First the comment on Thalia’s long fingers then shortly after her asking, “Where are the keys?” had my brain wondering what it would be like to play piano wearing gloves. 🤔
Wallace Wattles speaks my language (about tools). My father, trained as a gunsmith and later working as a machinist, instilled in me the importance of using the right tool for the job. Later, in my carpentry and cabinetry work, I was the”tool guy.” On the one hand, fellow workers would kid about my plethora of tools, then not recognize the irony of asking to borrow this or that tool to assist their efforts!
My search of Wallace Wattles revealed that he was part of the New Thought Movement, of which Emmet Fox was a prominent figure in the US. One tenet I liked was the belief that the Bible is constantly being written and re-interpreted. One motto: God is still speaking.
Cal seems to have learned the trick of parenting! Telling the child (Tal) what they want to do, and giving a hard sell when needed.
