“Will you please stop shifting shelf shabble and help me get today’s love letter written and mailed?” Typist sat at her freshly cleaned table and watched the cursor blink.
My dad once used the word "spar" to describe an indoor space, a combination of sparce and spartan. He got his "point" across and want "challenged". Later, the conversation came up and Merriam-Webster did but back him up.
Spar: thinly decorated and lacking luxury it comfort.
John was frugal and boring, and his spar household was not a place I liked visiting.
Ok, maybe it won't take off in the lexicon but it feels like it should exist. :)
Very cool topic today, hedgehogs included. To my eye they are exuding great energy!
I remember when you gave your study a major makeover that I saw an appealing look of order (zero clutter!), harmonious color choices (remember, I am a wee bit color blind, but that was my experience), and a sense of spaciousness. One impetus may have been to free up Muse space for them each to bloom?
I did consider that whatever is causing the firecracker feelings in your spine and ribs may have been an influence on the hedgehogs today! 🤔 Spectacular detail.

I love your art💕 Clearing clutter and making your space cleaner and brighter brings me joy. Not a fan of clutter, and yet, the past few years have helped me accept it.
The printed ear and the future are fascinating. Wow. Excited and hopeful for babies born without ears and thinking of all the possibilities the future holds! 🌟
Thanks For your appreciation Billie. Inspiration for fun art attempts is everywhere! I tend to steal a lot from one particular artist on IG. Flattery, right?
To the best of my awareness, I’ve never seen something that came from a 3D printer. I’m blown away that the can do it with human cells!
We lived up in temps for a year on Fliegerhorst. We were there in 1977. We got married in 1975 in Babenhausen. We lived on the economy there. We loved living in Germany. We went to Florida in Sept 1977. After we had the kids the Army sent us back to Babenhausen. We were there a year or two and got sent to Baumholder. The DODDS system had host nation teachers in the elementary schools. Those teachers taught the American kids sooo much about the countries they were stationed in. I chaperoned all the trips the host nation teachers took the kids on. I learned as much as the kids did.
Yes. We spent 11 1/2 yrs in Germany on my husband's last tour. We were in Babenhausen for 2 yrs then he was transfered to Baumholder where we were the rest of his tour. That was my second time over there. Our kids were born here in the States. Paula was born in Florida and Travis in Minnesota. She was 3 and he was 18 months when we went to Germany. He was 12 and she was 14 when we came back. The first time I went was to ger maried. We got married in Babenhausen then he got transfered to Hanau. We were 1 yr in Babenhausen and 2 years in Hanau. My kids grew up without any family except mom and dad. They never knew what Walmart or K-Mart was. Never saw commericials on TV. Was a shock to them when they were at one of their friends who had family that copied TV shows and sent to them. The commercials weren't edited out. My kids came home and were all excited because they got to see a commerical. We only had 1 TV station and 1 radio station that broadcasted in English. The Armed Forces Radio and TV. They edited out the commercials. Now the kids complain about there being too many commercials.
I appreciate you sharing about the TV experiences. Years ago I backpacked in the Smokies for a nice week. When we emerged we had a hotel reservation, and a warm shower held its appeal. When I turned on the TV, MTV had launched while we traipsed the Smokies! I suspected we had entered The Twilight Zone!
These days we simply stream commercial free movies or documentaries. If we are at a friend’s house and commercials pop up, my sense is that of fingernails on the chalk board. Okay, okay. Mixed metaphor.
“Yes there is,” Wordist replied. “I found it online. I wanted a noun that starts with sh to flow with shift and shelf. Our readers know what big fans we are of alliteration. I think they like it, too!”

I’m not boring, but I am frugal and my surroundings are spar. 😂
I read Word by Word by Kory Stamper last year. Lexicographer… crazy detailed work!

Even homes today can be 3-D printed!
Haven't seen a wild hedgehog in 30 years. We miss seeing them.
You must have seen them in Europe? They’re so cute!
Your critters are delightful, Gail!! I love them.
🤗 Thank you!

BUTTON: “If a clown farts, does it smell funny?” 😁
LOVE the thousand-points-of-color hedgehogs! So does Deb!
And "shabble" is obviously "shelf + shabby + rubble" and so fits in perfectly. 👏
I’m wondering how I might infuse the points-of-color concept into the muses. 🤔
Thank you for sharing your LOVE because I LOVE the look, too. A good reason to experiment and pursue.
Rubble. 😂

Small World 🌏 Margaret! I spent 3 years in Hanau. 86-89 at Fliegerhorst Kaserne. Germany 🇩🇪 was a wonderful experience.
Point if reference for others. Fliegerhorst translates to Dragonfly. Helicopter 🚁 base. Artillery too.
I have never been back. Looking forward to Europe next year. 😊
