T-shirt: “Schadenfreude: the feeling you get when you ask someone to spell Schadenfreude.” 😁
Although that is not even remotely your style, Gail. You'd be more likely to ask Siri to help somebody spell something if you saw they were in trouble.
Ha! I had to look the word up for clarification. :)
I have been working the lessons of focus and saying “no” this week. I’m a work in progress… both because of my “Squirrel!” tendencies/FOMO and my deeply ingrained people pleasing samskaras (pathways). I’m delighted to say that awareness is a BIG first step. 🤓 Moving forward in gratitude!
What a splendid hydrangea bloom! I’m going to guess this wasn’t found while wandering around sans contacts or glasses?! 😁
In one of Castaneda’s books, the Brujo (shaman or medicine man) taught him about the “gait of power.” Hmmm, you may be processing that. Once mastered, one could at will run full tilt in the dark of night. Contacts not required. 🙃 Even on treacherous terrain! Don’t try this at home!
Couched in Steve Maraboli’s quote, is it plausible to believe that the gait of power is something we can gain control over? That for some it is an actual need? That our power is not necessarily fixed, but capable of an increasing array of skills. Is such a progression likely even if we stay focused on our present power?
Great points to ponder on this sunny December day. Thanks.
Yes… sans glasses, in the dark, mile and a half every morning. Henny stopped to sniff it. We’re experiencing a lot of wind this week. A gust or two must have carried the bloom from a neighboring yard to our driveway.
A Castaneda quote crossed my path this morning! “We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same.”
I suspect some people, who come to mind from history, harnessed their gait of power. 🤔
I LOVE the way this community supports Typist AND each other... A “WE” is never to be taken for granted. A we is created, built, nurtured, and I feel us slowly becoming a “WE” and it feels like magic.

Our sense's and eyes can lead us to interesting finds.

I can think of a current acquaintance who’s developing hers. 😉
