Tal leapt onto studio’s table. “Vivaaaaaaaa Magentaaaaaa!” The Muse of Wit shook her tail feathers. “Twenty twenty-three is wearing MY color!”
“Get down,” Nia scolded.
Calliope read from the article. “Pantone’s Color of the Year… Viva Magenta… vibrates with vim and vigor…”
Tal rested her chin on Cal’s shoulder and crowed into her ear. “Rooted in nature… signal of strength… brave and fearless… exuberance promotes a joyous optimistic celebration… writes a new narrative!”
“Humility?” Nią peered over the top of her readers. “Check yourself!”
Calliope followed a link to colors from years-gone-by. “Twenty twenty-two was periwinkle… ‘Very Peri blends the faithfulness and constancy of blue with the energy and excitement of red.’ Hmmmm….” The Muse of Harmony rested a hand on top of Nia’s. “And in twenty-eighteen Ultra Violet communicated originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking.”
“We wore green in twenty-seventeen!” Thalia twirled. “Symbolic of a fresh start, growth, and vitality.”
“I sure hope…” Calliope gazed through the window, “… our readers will explore their colors. Every single one brings… wonder to the table.”
I never thought of color the way the muses explained them. I just know that I have always loved color. That color is fun and eventful. But I too am an artist who paints on occasion. What a fun post Gail, thank you for making my day brighter.
