A note from LoveLetterist:

Watching/listening to the muses is enlightening.

Over the weekend we employed productive procrastination by decorating the house for Christmas.

On Monday there was sunshine, so Henny got an extra long walk.

Then the grocery store called and said we needed to come and fill a cart to the brim and stand in an extensive line for checkout.

Next there was unpacking, putting away, and a rousing game of fetch in the yard with Hen.

Suddenly... it was dark and time to think about preparing dinner.

Guess what happens after dinner?

We're tired!

It's time to recline, relax, and read.

***

With the aid of the muses, I'm aware of what's happening.

We've adopted two new projects.

They loom in a space called:

We don't know how...

YET!

Less thinking and dodging...

More baby steps.

My pleasure!

Humans (me!) are so funny! When I was working on Poise… all I wanted to work on was the images. Now that I’m working on a picture book, I’m holding myself back on the art because I have no idea how to format a children’s book. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Baby steps! I can do this!

I would eagerly echo your first observation! The standing in an extensive line? A bit less compelling...

I for the life of me cannot understand yesterday afternoon’s full grocery. The weather is fair. We’re in between holiday meals. What were all of theses people doing?! 😆

Michael had the same experience on Sunday--said he'd never seen anything like it!

I think that while you're "productively procrastinating," your brain is busy working out solutions and exploring possibilities. Time is seldom truly wasted!

Thank you for the positive reframe!!! I have books all over the place… even in the Christmas Bins. I spent some time looking at the I Spy Christmas book. 🤔

Let us see what happens!

S`il vous plait!

On the bird count is it possible there are six? Three French hens, two turtle doves, and a partridge in a pear tree?

Don’t tell a soul I said this: in my initial efforts to see what all appeared in your tree, I was certain a raccoon had lain down on the bottom left branch with its left ear pressed to the limb! Facing the viewer. Pinching and zooming dispelled that apparition! And revealed one of the French hens and the three dot trio of ? Black olives. Leaves? Not on an “evergreen tree.”

It will likely come to me in a dream tonight. 🤭

You and your imagination!

I made another with a different vibe later in the day. I can only imagine, what you might imagine, if you saw it!

I honestly wonder if learning to use the Rorschach Inkblot exam for diagnostic purposes, and the broad array of responses to the cards, shaped my mind to believe “ anything is possible?”

Another tree vibe? Rudolph atop the tree, rather than an Angel or Star, with his keen sense of direction seems a valid choice though not quite in harmony with the manger events... A mixed metaphor of sorts. 🤔

Is there a penalty for more than one partridge in a pear tree? Oops! My bad. A fresh look and review of the lyrics whispered, “Two turtledoves.” A beautiful tree, by any other name, is a beautiful tree. A rose is a rose is a... Such drawings inspire me to notice, appreciate, and say so. For one who struggles with stick figures I think that’s a wise choice. 😉

The cookie cutters I bought before having back surgery in late 2021 have been calling my name of late. A Christmas tree and a snowman are not the best fit for Fourth of July or Hallowe’en.

I also have a recipe from a good friend for ginger snaps. They’re not the totally brittle, crumbly, tasteless variety. Crisp? Yes. But beyond flavorful. Perhaps checking my supply of spices is a good starting place. No cutters required. Just placed on the cookie sheet after being formed to a ball and rolled in sugar crystals. (A definite thank you to whoever invented parchment paper! Martha Stewart? 😊

May your day be filled with more magic!

There are 3 birds in the tree! 🤭

You might recall posts about my TexMexYankee niece who makes gorgeous cutouts? She made cookies for me to bring to my caregivers on my birthday? She’s up to baking magic for humans AND dogs this season. 😁

Love hearing about your intentions and action steps. Go Gary!

I received an email over the weekend with a number of delicious rounding cookie recipes. The one I’m most interested in trying is a lemon almond variety.

Let me know if your interested in the link!
