Thalia squeals praise at a pitch only a dog could love. “Gooooooood guhrlllll! Goooood, good, guhrl!” Nią scratches Hen’s neck. “Trust — Is a beautiful thing.” Calliope wipes dog slobber onto her leggings. “One of the best feelings in the world… effort rewarded.”
I feel like I’ve tagged along for parts of Henny’s growing up. At times tumult (Henny running away), others imagining how I would manage my equanimity if I were in your position (poorly), and still others cheering you on for your commitment to making that girl “act right!”

She actually came to veg when I was slicing veggies tonight and… ate a piece of green pepper?!
Mara and Elsa loved veggies and always stood by when I chopped. In so many ways I had to learn to accept new behaviors (or lack of them) from Hen.
Every day we feel just a little bit more connected. She’s sleeping under studio’s table now. 🐾💤
