My “feel” of the poem suggests you wrote it somewhat early in the cancer dance?! As the process continued did you write other poems? Not unlike taking one’s emotional temperature.
Words and phrases helped me see your vague horizon, tinged with Higher Power calm. Just now, riding a bull at the rodeo comes to mind.
Perhaps that’s what Judy Collins was thinking of when she sang, “Send in the clowns...” 😊
Actually... while looking for inspiration, I found this poem in my Medium archive... long before "c" became my challenge. 🤷🏻♀️ It is a good fit though, isn't it?
A few words from Loveletterist:
Last weekend's meeting with the editor of Poise was encouraging.
We agreed that one vignette was not a good fit.
I'm going to replace it with the poem shared above.
The ice cream cone drawing will pair with the vignette that tells the story of my first visit with Dr. S (medical oncologist).
We both love ice cream. :)
Thank you for being part of this book! I am grateful you are here.
Wouldn’t miss it for anything!
How old is the ice cream cone drawing? It feels like a different era for you, Gail.
Not that old… a few months? What I like about the images for Poise is that they are drawn/nicked from a wide variety of styles. 😁

All the best! All the time!

Indeed!
Excellent fit!
I love it.
Thank you Pennie!
There is joy in finding new life for past works! :)
Agreed 👍
