others I feel the power of life coursing through me.
To tip the scale in favor of the latter,
I turn my attention to that which is in my sphere of influence.
Yesterday's visit to the cancer center was bittersweet.
I was emotion filled -- joyful at having faced one of my biggest fears and come out stronger which... made me want to cry?
How fascinating. 🤔
I crossed paths and shared hugs with three old friends.
I learned that my nurses are doing okay in their infusion pod -- "the system" is a mess.
What might I do about that?
Don't know, but I'm willing to step up if called upon.
I am empowered with an email address for one of my caregivers. She was one of a handful who responded to my outreach efforts to include caregiver voices in POISE, I'm now aware she is facing her second dance with c.
It is within my control to reach out to her and so... I will.
“Ties Between us” indeed! Watching James Taylor and the other performers was beyond heartwarming to me. With so much need in the world today, what better message!
Lately I’ve become more aware of performers that exude joy as they perform. JT fit the bill nicely. Another I’d not thought of in a long while is Diana Krall, a Canadian jazz singer and pianist. Her facial expressions as she looks at co-performers in a jazz set conveys delight and joy. Audience reactions further demonstrate connection. Sort of feels like basking in their positive energy!
Your selection of quotes by Paul Stanley and Stephen Hough fit wonderfully in today’s LoveLetter! Do you sometimes reach “Warp Speed” when crafting your posts? Today’s struck me that way... 🙏🏽
Your words about “feel like an impotent little spec” brought to mind another perspective: “What a shame to do nothing because we can’t do everything.”
I’m sure you know the “starfish parable.” A strong storm had swept countless starfish ashore during an overnight storm. The next morning a beach goer, seeing all the stranded ones, decided to return as many to the water as possible. Another person came along and commented to the first: “You can’t possibly think what you’re doing will make a difference?” The first answered, “It just made a difference to this one!”
Your account of yesterday demonstrates the stuff that helping others requires: Willingness; A Pay It Forward mindset; And caring about the needs of others. To name just a few.
I think a lot of us — including me — can become tangled in confusion and a sense of helplessness. That is when it becomes really important to me to dial down on the little things that actually might be quite big?

I’m a “show, don’t tell” kind of thinker. It seems Antipina, JT, and Diana might be too?
Some days everything flows together without much effort. Today was one of those! Wind at my back?
I believe that was what I was seeing-feeling in today’s LoveLetter.
