In 1973 Shawn Phillips wrote a song, “Bright White.” A verse contains:
“It’s all about white light
Shining through you mind
And guiding your way.”
To me that suggests having a plan, a vision, for our day. Our lives? The source of that light? Great Spirit? The Sun? Black holes? Pulsars from distant galaxies?
Growing up our family owned a shredder for pulverizing leaves and stalks and dead bean plants for making compost. Our dogs use their teeth as shredders of ... toys, sticks, and sometimes our shoes. GatorAide containers? Bad for tummies, but the noise for the dog is enthralling!
What if we were equally entertained by finding a lost frisbee? (I have; I was.)
For log and speck-bearing eyes? Systane. For everything else there’s MasterCard!
Help! I can’t find my MasterCard; I have a log in my eye! I’m too often tempted to (fix) my wife, speck or otherwise. Realizing relationships are reciprocal, I too infrequently remember to just listen. Evidently Beth’s sharing about a tough part of her day is cathartic. Since the incident has already happened I’m quite unlikely to fix it. Fix Beth? Well ... what if she’s not broken?
What if we're not here to fix the world? What if the world is here to fix us?

So much to contemplate.
So much to contemplate indeed!
Today’s Bible passage reminds me to keep my eyes on my own page… to be aware of my inner contradictions… to make space for others to work with theirs.
Henny exhibits so much ennn-thooos
Drat! Enn-thooosi-asssm!

“Fools rush in, so here I am...”
Mamas and the Papas
Ahhhh! The joys (and I mean that!) of introspection are immense. Overcoming the “self” and its blurry vision is the work of a lifetime?
I should never let my eye drop supply run low! 🙃
Me too.
