Once upon a time I pretended to be a writer, and I became one.
Years later, I pretend to be a Drawist and a Paintist.
I’m becoming both.
Any costumes you’d like to try on for size?”
On December 1st, 2021 I tried on the costume of Artist! 🧑🎨 Less than a year later, I am now not only an Artist, but I have boldly proclaimed myself and secured the URL for TheEarthHeARTist.com • It is at present simply a placeholder and Typist’s post has me thinking about who I need to be and what skills will be required to share my work with the world?
Calendars, post cards, thank you cards, prints, custom work, work shops, retreats, commissioned work, etc.
Now, the focus can shift to what do I personally want to do, and what can I outsource?
What might happen if I let curiosity get the best of me?
Your drawings? Is the color the result of watercolor pens/markers? In any case they are wonderful! If I could share a thought, a speculation: recently many of your posts begin with Thalia's energy bursting forth, not tethered to tedious details. Exuberance. Nia usually presents her pragmatic opinions next. No time for gavotting about the studio! Let's get down to business! Cal, sometimes hearing the potential for conflict, offers constructive suggestions to avoid same. Given all that (presumption) I picture you in a similar flow as you start your new day. "Come on, Henny! Let's see what we can find at the marsh." With that behind you, and some brekkie, you might head to the studio with a shift in focus akin to Nia's temperment. Once focused, then able to relax to be both productive and enjoy the process as well. Something Cal would encourage.
And, no, I wasn't standing behind the burning bush, spying on the four of you! And Happy Costumery one and all!
I really like black and white images with minimal touches of color. 🤷♀️
Wow! You are paying close attention. I confess that the order of muse dialogue has not been a conscious decision. I love that YOU noticed and shared with me. Thanks!
I have been consciously working at “how” each muse sounds.
Thalia — enthusiastic, song, exclamation points.
Urania — short and to the point. Economy of words.
Cal — halting and pause-full. Ellipsis, ummm, welll, errr…
Costume…
Kojak? Then I’d have to shave my head and buy lollipops. 😆
Love it. Telly Savalas, right? When I read the remark about some signs of facial fuzz (of or like a peach?😉), my first thought was “A werewolf!” A classic, campy movie from yesteryear, American Werewolf In London, had American tourists turning into werewolves. Theme music by Warren Zevon by a song with much the same name. Alert! Alert! More than a little gore...
So a werewolf costume seems totally out of character for you. That can keep folks guessing about your identity. 🤷🏽 On today’s colors, I thought you did a great job with the illustrations!

Thank you Bobby!

BUTTON: “We only have two things to worry about — either things will never get back to normal, or they already have” 😁
Like the witch drawing! Caption (in my head, anyway): “What?! Spider?! Where?!”
Ha! Love it! The Button and the Caption.
Feathers! Today I gave simple feathers a shot! There is a two page feather tutorial in my “Watercolor How-to” book. 😃

Thank you for your appreciation of the drawings. 😊
Cant't say that I've seen the movie... likely HAVE heard the song.
