I love these passion flowers! I remember when I was a kid there were some that grew wild in the field between our house and my Grandfathers. Thanks Gail.
My parents-in-law had a vine that returned yearly in Wisconsin! It was situated against the south side of their house. Environment can make a huge difference!
It’s been absolutely magical watching Paintist bloom and Typist discover new ways of expressing old ideas…
Where are “feelings” experienced? Hmmm? 🤔
Not as simple to answer as one might expect…
Where is the birth of a grandchild experienced, the loss of a friend or loved one, the publication of a manuscript, or the understanding that gratitude is actually a verb?
And what does Gratitude look like?
Could one actually be grateful for something like “c” for example?
I think we have all been blessed with the answer to that question and the answer shows up here in colors, words, drawings, pictures, and LOVE!
"You make me want to be a passion flower hunter." Perhaps some thought I was about to repeat Jack Nicholson's remark to Helen Hunt in As Good As It Gets. Actually, multi-skilled creative person, that has been taking place with me, if ever so slowly. On the subject of passion flowers, I've not seen one in a long time, due to limitations on my locomotion. Hunting them in our roasty-toasty afternoons is a bit daunting, but our mornings are relatively cool. Perhaps my dog Izzie can assist tomorrow morning!
I thought I had read of a connection between Passion Flowers and the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ. A search confirmed that. Counting features of the flower and poetic license on what other features represent provides the connection.
These flowers are beautiful. Once again something we do not see in Southern California. They are in found in Northern California. I think they are unusual and fabulous.
I am always thankful when the muses teach me a new word.
We read the word sentient in a poem by Barbara Kingsolver and felt our shaken understanding warranted further investigation. 😊
I’ve watched the second passionflower bloom cycle. It opens for less than 24 hours and then closes back up. It does not wither, nor does it open again. Fascinating!
Love the way you talk about that metaphor. I always told my kids you are going to meet all kinds of people in your life. Some will like you and others won't. You have to be civil to them all BUT the ones you don't like and the ones who don't like you don't need to be brought home to meet the family.

I Am #Grateful 🙏🏼🕊🙏🏼
I like that C is being reduced to lowercase! 💜❤️💚
Thank you Bobby.
Sign: “Folks ask me, ‘If the world is round, why don’t people fall off?’ They're making an incorrect assumption—people fall off all the time!” 😁
Hmmm... pondering. 🤔
Very pretty... Such a unique bloom.
The petals are sturdy and strong, too!

Yesterday's bloom is kaput today! I looked it up and sure enough... the vine's flowers only bloom for one day!
Sending good luck wishes for your hunt tomorrow with Izzie. 🌸
