As the muses crafted this morning's post, I couldn't help but think of my friend's at the Bread Pedaler's who are pouring themselves into nurturing a space for coffee and connection. If you're ever in Wisconsin, Let me know and I'll meet you there!
Ralph Waldo also said: "The lover of nature is he whose inward and outward senses are still truly adjusted to each other; who has retained the spirit of infancy even into the era of manhood."
I checked the Wiki link (in Nia’s comment) and read that Emerson’s contemporaries noted he preferred to be known by Waldo Emerson! And that he was a Transcendentalist. Unitarian Universalist. A very rewarding rabbit hole. 😉
As is sometimes (often) the case, I have an artistry question: Is the “head separated from body look” a signature feature to denote your unique Click2Comic art? That the head is the driving force of your character’s pursuits? IMHO not representative of your personal world view. 🤷🏽
The link below your art today, to a calming voice and lyrics, stirred my memory of “hoedadding.” A specific reference to the tool and the user of same. I had a friend nearly 45 years ago who contracted that work at a local National Forest to restore long leaf pines. The native pines of this area. Some Google videos display the process - horribly repetitive and back breaking… 😳
That the Age of Enlightenment, begun in Europe then transferred to the colonies, had coffee shops was surprising. I picture contemplative gentlemen at an ornate table, thinking and sipping.
My brain now festooned with new images and possibilities, I’ll plan accordingly. 😁
Ha! I wondered if anybody might notice the barely visible neck. It’s there. The water to pigment ratio made it very light on the image prior to c2c. C2c made it invisible.
Glad women have made (and continue to make) their way to ornate tables, too.

Head and heart in harmony?

I always think of him as Ralph Waldo. 🤷♀️
I once read a commencement speech he gave at a university. It was word by word truth and wisdom.
Just as we need profound students of spirituality, I believe great thinkers (and writers/speakers) are part of the lifeblood of a nation.
