“A planner? Typist bought a plllllaaaaaaaannnnner?” Thalia dusted off her acting skills from days of yore — and pretended to faint. She lifted her head an inch from the floor and whispered, “My life — is over.”
“The only place success comes before work,” Nia sat tall, “… is in the dictionary.”
Aware she had her work cut out for her this morning, Calliope mindlessly tugged at a clump of her hair. “Let us call it play instead of work… shall we? We LOVE what we do!” The Muse of Harmony placed her arms around her friends. “And we’ve discussed this many times… our primary goal is to create value… no matter what position the word holds in Merriam-Webster.”
Words from Typist:
Smartphone surgery was unsuccessful. Since it was under warranty, I was given a new device at no charge. (Big shout-out to Jazzy who did her best for me at the Apple store!)👍 But Houston… there’s a lingering ironic challenge… the phone will not connect to cellular and cannot be used for calls. 😂 I’ve added a trip to
HorizonVerizon to today’s planner square. Wish me luck!In other news, reader Jack from
, reached out to me via 3mm comments several times to ask if I have a YouTube channel. I do… and it has been devoid of any content. I’m a writer, not a videographer… I thought. I spoke with Jack over the weekend. He explained the value of completing my my social media profiles to extend the length of 3mm’s reach. Not only has he gifted me knowledge, he’s also sharing 3mm related material via his channels. I’m grateful. Thanks Jack! And I’ll close with… Have you considered gifting Wandering Words, Meandering Muses, and/or Flourishing Fictions to yourself or somebody else this holiday season?
I hadn’t.
I’m grateful that the muses thought of it!
Great fiction if you have a few extra minutes!
P.S. Do you have a plan to create value today?
I find smiles and encouraging words to be golden!

~Typist, with a flair for the dramatic, as evidenced by Thalia!
In his book, Discipline Equals Freedom: Field Manual, Retired Navy SEAL Officer, Jocko Willink, explains why discipline is so important, and how discipline is what creates freedom.
For freedom lovers everywhere, this is important to understand, because if you are indeed, a lover of freedom, then you will do as so many before us have done, and you will embrace discipline as the vehicle that creates the freedom we love, and a planner is one of those “DISCIPLINE” tools.
I anticipate that in the next day or two we will hear about how our dear friend is twirling once again because of what she’s discovered using her planner.

Hurray! Manna from the Universe! Ezekiel 4:9 bread is pretty good, too, but this post is brain-food for me!
Your phone foibles brought to mind your initial change over to a 14, owing to its SIMM-less “simplicity.” 🙃 Progress is not without its pitfalls. May the “Event Horizon” at Verizon quickly dissipate. Event Horizon, from astro-physics, is a boundary beyond which events cannot influence the observer-you. 🤔 With just a little luck, the magicians at Verizon will perform skillful acts that indeed will influence you! Or at least your phone. If not, call me for advice! 🤪
Going back to your planner image, I smiled at your deft touch of incorporating Mark Starlin’s story about Stroller into your embellishments on the page. Almost a variant of geocaching?
The topic of “creating value using encouraging words and smiles” triggered a memory. A worker, in the deli where I shopped years ago, always seemed dour, quite unfriendly. I recognized how that judgement influenced my attitude if she took my order. I decided to act differently. When she finished cutting my lunch meat, I playfully commented, “Nice slice!” That brought a smile to her face and a softened tone to her words. Or was part of that how I “heard” her? With a new framing of the exchange?🤔
Last I’m so glad to read the outcome of your responding to Jack Bosma. I had seen his comments, too, and was mystified as to their implications. Writer speak? A critique? 🤷🏽 And again, thanks to 3mm I’m less clueless on one thing today. 😁
