Calliope pulls out their yoga mat in preparation for today’s adventure. “A physical stretch… might help elongate our courage?” “Pfffff-ffff! You need courage? Ihhhhhh-ll give you courage.” Chest puffed too far, Tal tumbles out of her headstand and onto the carpet.
In a few short hours I'm meeting with fellow authors Jay Armstrong and Julie B. Hughes.
Each of us has authored books with themes of courage, resilience, and growth.
We're poised to share our collective message of: You got this!
We just need to figure out "how". 😂
Today we're going to experiment with creating a video in which we share the reasons that we wrote our books -- so that people can see and hear us beyond the words on our pages.
Do I have videography skills? No.
Do I know how to edit videos? No.
Am I an actress or model? No.
What I am is... willing to try and...
willing to learn out loud.
I'm grateful Jay and Julie are, too!
Fingers crossed that there will be a video link to share in tomorrow's letter.
No worries if your video isn’t ready tomorrow, Gail. My rule of thumb is that even a trivially easy video takes three times as long to finish as the video itself — once to watch the raw footage, once to go through with edits, once to watch the finished copy.
And we might have to double or triple that for me since I will be in learning mode. Planning to record using Zoom as that's how we are meeting. I'm aware Zoom videos can be edited. Let's see what happens!
I like your message, LoveLetterist! No matter how I search and eagerly scamper down the rabbit holes of my choosing, I can begin a new day knowing you’ll have pearls of wisdom to share.
The perfect fluff balls dangled by thorny vines is a good description of life’s course, with no particular direction implied.
A note: with the diversity of dispositions and endeavors, I’m trying very hard to picture the four of you on the same yoga mat. 🤭

😁
Certainly a power trio! All the best.

Somehow... with the guidance of teacher Sarah in our mind's ear... we stretch and strengthen.
I will never cease to be amazed at how what we need to grow is within reach... and how long it takes us to notice it!
