A note from LoveLetterist:

We here at 3mm are brewing with excitement for 2024.

Like Old MacDonald

we've got a baa-baa here

and a moo-moo there.

Here a cluck

there a cluck

everywhere a cluck-cluck.

Projects are percolating, experiments elasticizing, and collaborations colliding.

Exciting

times

indeed!

Thank goodness for yoga, treats, Henrietta, and our LoveLetter readers who influence our perspectives.

This morning our conversation in The Mind of Curiosity centered on Habits of Communication,

“I’m a little teapot short and stout

Here is my handle here is my spout

When I get all steamed up hear me shout

Tip me over and pour me out”

As you well know, pictures and works of art prompt words. Hot cinnamon tea and ugly gingerbread bars? I can almost taste them!

Steve Jobs’ quote reminded me of a co-worker from long ago that joined the Church of Scientology. He often commented that the process of his instruction was to get his mind “clear.” So whether “clean” or “clear” I hear one echoing the other. 🤷🏽

The sound of a Sarna Brass Bell being struck with another brass object, for the moment has a similar “clearing” effect. I’ve heard their use in both meditation and yoga practices. 🔔

Don’t stand tooo close to the bell. But listen closely. 😊

Recently saw a video of Alex Hormozi paying tribute to Charlie Munger. Munger was a huge proponent of simplicity.

I’ve had a couple of opportunities to experience a sound bath at local yoga studios. For reasons I cannot recall, I didn’t go. Maybe next time. I’ve heard (ha!) it’s a fascinating experience.

I’m unfamiliar with “sound bath?” For me the cinnamon tea and ugly gingerbread bars are sounding better by the minute. 😊

Or maybe it was the singing bowl event that I missed. 🤔

Many years ago I attended a “community yoga class” nearly every Friday evening. At the end of the session, a woman-creator played a large brass gong in a manner I’d never heard before! Powerful yet relaxing. For me the disconnect from “the stuff” of daily life was effective. Waves of sound. Pauses. A sound bath I guess?

I used to be wound so tight that one wrong tick and I might have snapped. 😂

A loose wire in my sentimental jukebox just triggered a memory of this song:

“There’s no tick tock on your electric clock

But still your life runs down”
