A note from LoveLetterist:

The morning started with an internal debate as to whether use both the front and back side of each notebook page -- or front-only.

Front-only came out on top.

This experiment feels hard.

Nia's in a kerfuffle... complaining about quality slippage.

Thalia continues to fire one creative possibility after another. "Can we add doodles?"

Cal embraces the opportunity to explore and meld internal contradictions.

Yesterday I got to go see the movie Ordinary Angels with my friend Donna.

Will you make 2:22 minutes for inspiration?

Andre Gide

I cannot wait to see that movie!!!

Ooooh! Thank you for the quote. It is new to me.

Although Andre Gide’s name strikes a chord of familiarity… I don’t know why…

Hillary Swank hits another home run. The story, based in truth, contains many life lessons.

I like and enjoy Hillary’s acting. One of the very good ones. I wonder if “Swank” is her birth surname or stage name? Either way the fit is spot on.

She was excellent in Million Dollar Baby... and Freedom Writers. I'm not sure if I've seen her in any others...

Since 1992, Hilary has starred in over thirty movies. The first, Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Social Justice is a recurring theme in several. She and Clint Eastwood won Academy Awards for their acting in Million Dollar Baby. Clint won others for Best Director, Best Screenplay, and possibly more. GASP!

There are a number of excellent actresses and actors who do amazing work and yet seem to fly under the radar a bit? Humble? Character driven? Drama-averse?

30 since 1992. That’s quite a body of work!

At the movies?? I must have missed the exit signs. 😉 And I must have fallen into the rabbit hole of paddle boards. And I’m certain you know exactly what SEALs training you indulge in. In the studio? Walks with Henny? Yoga? It’s all good! I like Thoreau’s rationale for leaving the woods.

If I recall accurately, Thoreau was a thorn in the side of right and proper city officials. Boston? He appeared before official proceedings to argue against taxes, policies that could result in environmental harm and such. Often his own strongest advocate.

I believe the article pointed to his advocacy fueled by his experiences. IIRC, the article also pointed out that unlike his mentor/friend Emerson, he came from commoner beginnings.

After Al Gore lost the race for Presidency of the US in 2000, he increased his efforts to raise awareness of global warming, winning 1/2 a Nobel Prize for his efforts. Shared with an agency developing and disseminating like information. He coined the term, INCONVENIENT TRUTHS, to characterize his messaging. So I could describe Thoreau’s findings as also INCONVENIENT TRUTHS. No do-overs.

You can win 1/2 of a Nobel prize?

I’d want the whole. 🤭

What I continue to learn is that we have a better chance at effecting change when we focus on and advocate for the vision of what can be.

Language like Inconvenient Truths is a harder sell than I have a dream?

At the beach in today’s art? Your beginning of SEALs training? (Whetting paddle board skills) 🤭 Perhaps try log rolling competition to improve balance and leg strength?

Just as their personalities differ, I was surprised to observe that The Muses’ handwriting also does! Different strokes…

I just thought of the old classroom pencil sharpeners for the #2’s. If I want to follow a different drummer (Thanks Lauren Alaina 😊), I need to visit Office Depot! A bundle of #2’s and a “crankit” old school sharpener. Then off to the woods, a la Thoreau and Walden.

The beach? In a red recliner?

We're at the movies!

Beginning SEAL training?!

What have we been doing up until now?!

The handwriting difference was intentional. Tal and Nia were easy. Not sure yet to do with Cal's script.

Writing can sure shine a light into the darkness!

I just read something about Thoreau. Perhaps on Plough. To share his message/learning... he had to leave the woods.
