Thalia attempts to release a clench by kneading one of Henny’s balls between a wall and her shoulder blades. “Well… Twaaaaaahsn’t eeeeee-zy, but we dihhhhd it! We got the heh-vee cart down.” “Fixed and ready to roll on both wheels again.” Nia pushes against Tal’s chest to increase pressure.
Last week on collection day, one of the wheels to our garbage cart went missing. Because the cart is their property, I called our service company. They said somebody'd come out for a repair next Thursday (today!). This morning I somehow managed to get the cart down the hill, through the S turn, and across the flat to the cul de sac. An hour or so later I went back down with an intention of snapping a photo for today's love letter. I had taped salmon-colored cardstock to the cart with a plea -- Please fix my wheel! 🙂
Wouldn't you know that when I was about 100 feet from my intention, the repairman was driving down the hill to fix it up! I had the opportunity to say thanks for following through on my service call. He popped on a new, perfectly-sized wheel in less than five seconds. Sweet!

This is a perfect sequel to the movie pass story I shared privately earlier! I somehow lost my ticket and figured we’d just miss the free popcorn and other goodies (inducements to attend?) and watch when Amazon released the movie later.
But no! Beth called the theater and explained our situation. The reply was, “We have a list of everyone who was cleared to attend tonight!” Re-shifting our collective gears, off we went and enjoyed ourselves! To Beth, and now you, a simple call was indicated! Easy-Peasy.
I have spent too much of my life in fear-induced, negative waiting. I can see how I’ve passed said behavior on. The only way I can see to put a stop to it is by modeling something different.
So great that you and Beth got to attend!!! 😁 Seize the moment!
Beth is like that! She also frequently wins raffle drawings. One time she was the announcer for the number that had just been drawn, and she ended up winning the grand prize! She also gets lots of green lights while driving!🤷🏽
As you know, Gail, I've also struggled with the "I don't want to bother anyone" syndrome. Yay you for setting a better example! Also, I was so hoping someone else would call this out so I wouldn't
