Thalia tickled Typist’s neck, behind her right ear. Typist swatted at the muse’s touch. “Go away!” Calliope lifted Paintist’s left arm by pulling up on her fleece sweatshirt’s sleeve. When she let go, the muse wrangler’s arm thumped and thudded onto the tabletop. “Stop it!” Paintist grouched.
“The purpose of Art is to hold a mirror up to Life. Life obviously needs more sleep.” 😁
And in another week or two your spring flowers will be open, and Sneezy will be by. So don’t be Bashful about talking to the Doc to see if they can make you Happy! 😊
The Muses jiggering your ear and sleeve wasn’t helpful. But external and internal context can play a role. An instructor once illustrated that: a person waiting to cross a busy street felt a bump against his leg. Remembering the “wino” he had just seen, he turned thinking the bump came from that person bumping into him. Feeling his indignation rise, he turned to verify his expectation. He had been bumped with the walking cane of a visually impaired person. Indignation quickly gave way to embarrassment, then compassion.
Without intending any comparison with the clever crosswalk character, your own analysis of events was spot on. And remembering all the support and understanding your peeps freely offer is one way to transcend a negative state of mind.
That your friend waited 15 minutes past the set time makes no one Dopey! To me it illustrates how dependable you are under normal circumstance. I’d wager a nickel they weren’t standing there, tapping their foot, and muttering, “Dopey Gail, Loser.” Telling oneself, “I’m doing the best I can,” isn’t always easy for me. Under any circumstances.
Dopey visits me far more often than I care to admit… However, because of your role modeling with authenticity, armed with the quote from Anne Rice, Thank You, and the wisdom of “one of us,” I am prepared to shake Dopey’s hand. Heck, I might even see if I can “wrangle” a high five 🖐🏼 out of him! 😉
Grumpy, Sleepy, Dopey

Grumpy paid me a visit too. Thank you for sharing the Anne Rice quote. It was exactly what I needed to hear.
Always share, Gail. That's why we're here!
Gail, I love how you transition from typist to painter in this post. Look forward to seeing the beauty you create.
Be gentle on yourself Gail. All is forgiven.
