A note from Loveletterist:

We followed through and started our video challenge. 😱

It's fun, fruity, and... flows with folly.

We're using "Zoom clips" which is in beta... just like us.

To view, you'll have to log into your Zoom account.

Here's the link:

I can’t see the LoveLetter for the trees! 🤔

Three entire trees are being removed with limited working room, and numerous limbs in the front trees, due to tight clearances for the crane boom. 103 foot boom!

Whoosh! Tree work rolling along nicely!

At first I thought the round fruit was a “possum pear” or persimmon. Reading disabused me of that silly notion...

Most of all, thank you for the cosmic bombardment: “the song,” celebration of Video 1 (which was so enjoyable), and - good golly miss Molly! - pear, pecan salad. A citrus-y dressing?🤷🏽

I read this long ago: A person who believes in the future plants trees that he knows will outlive him. A paraphrase of a fuzzy memory. For the hopeful, positive, optimistic souls? Nia well realized the range of reasons and emotions!

🙏🏽🙏🏽

Was it fun for you to observe the big equipment in action?

Thank you for your appreciation of today’s letter. Your comments are icing on the cake!

Oh?! Not a perfect dressing on the pear-pecan salad? The more I considered the combination the more inclined I am to try it! The monster equipment? I was stiff and sore from last night’s clearing off our patio (with a friend’s able help) that I ached a few places today. 🙃 So I worked at my desk and mostly ignored the work. Trips outside were tempting until I remembered the heat/humidity today. The tree crew worked hard in the same conditions I wanted to avoid. 😊

A local restaurant has a pear walnut salad with roasted chicken and tangy mustard vinaigrette. Yum!

The kid took his vehicle for an oil change today and noted how hot/humid it was n the work area for the mechanics.

Much can be said for encouraging awareness in our children. The more you talk about Nathaniel’s maturation process, the evidence suggests more than a little of your worldview has rubbed off on him. I think at that age, about to set foot in the world of “adulting,” an on the ball type will be testing the “fit” of the puzzle pieces we call Life. Learning what serves us well. Bravo to Nathaniel! And bravissima to you too.

Thanks Gary!

Your last line… hold on loosely…

I am so grateful for my learning around that — especially in my mother/son relationship! Ten years ago or so I might have considered myself a “clinger” because I saw so much of the value and meaning of my life tied to the kids. I think it is Khalil Gibran who has a quote about releasing our children like arrows?

This ability to “let go and let God” has only served to make our relationship more stable… better. There is trust in not trying to control?

All of this said… It’s about a week until there will be a return to school and one of us is READY! for that independence again. 😁
