On the morning patrol, Thalia’s voice and hands pealed bells of joy. A trio of single-file squirrels dashed onto the drive. Upon sensing the fourleg’s presence, they split directions with the precision of synchronized swimmers. “I wish we’d had the caaaaaaaaam-ra!”
Beautiful result indeed! Whooping crane or common? There’s energy evident in the way you portrayed this lovely creature. (My first glance, apologies intended, suggested a skunk dance. Cleaning my glasses helped a lot. 😬 Strange how my brain residue from your recent skunk post lept into action. Loose wiring...)
Here in north Florida the spring bird migration seems to be underway. This morning I heard a number of hawks, all part of the balance in that migration, calling in their shrill voices. I’ve read that hawks emit such calls to make their prey scramble, thus more detectable and perhaps vulnerable. 🤷🏽 To me there’s something metaphorical about we humans living our lives in confidence. Undeterred by our detractors.

It is this “joy in the doing” part that has my full attention. I find myself experiencing “joy in the doing” with almost every activity now... My morning sunrise routine... recording a story for the Wednesday Gratitude Space, drawing, playing with color crayons and grandkids, a trip to the park pulling said kids in the wagon, picking up earth elements to assemble in an art piece, assembling the pieces, taking the pictures, sharing the art, all of it, all aspects of doing AND the result...
