A note from Loveletterist:

I came across a little parable the other day that's informing my 2024.

"A human appears before God with an overflowing box of accomplishments. God sighs and sends the person away. The box is supposed to be filled with... living."

🤔 Do my aspirations fit my 'living"?

I continue to play with the contradiction of Quenched and Thirsty.

I'm really excited for a couple of new projects -- early days.

Yoda said, "There is no try."

I respectfully make room for nuance.

Sometimes we try and the seed doesn't root.

Sometimes we try and we grow a fluffy seed head.

"If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?"

~Albert Einstein

Is living one big research project?

Yup. That seed took root, LoveLetterist. My hasty glance at your artwork didn’t even pick up on the jar. A second look suggested your cup for sipping a beverage... A studious look finally shouted out, “Water for cleaning brushes!🤦🏽” And the puffy seed head is spot on.

I believe my hasty glances and resulting oversight, then misperception, illustrates how rushing through life can create chaos and confusion and not being present.

Thalia is dancing! Well it is a new day, a New Year. That prompted a memory of one of Cat Stevens’ popular early songs:

“Morning has broken

Like the first morning

Blackbird has spoken

Like the first bird

Praise for the singing

Praise for the morning

Praise for them springing

Fresh from the world”

(Glad that one’s still in my jukebox)

So am I living in the past? Stuck in time? I prefer to see this as one of my experiments which connects past with present events. 🤷🏽

Nia’s double tying laces mirrors my methodology. Takes up a smidge of slack and prevents loosened strings from causing a trip! Not that kind.

Last, and far from least, Calliope is demonstrating her command of metaphors! You go girl! Oops, not a polished reference. You go young woman! Awkward sounding to my ears.

That Louisa May Alcott is still with us today in word matches her quote. 😊

Happy day!

“You go girl!”

Works for me! I like it.

“Life is an experiment,” I believe I’ve heard you say. Results of today’s experiment inform the choice of tomorrow’s. There is the option to just stay stuck. Past doings. Past ideas. Past longings. No fruit there. No puffy seeds either.

So , as always, thanks for striking a resonate chord in this day’s endeavors!

Ralph Waldo gets a bow for “All of life is an experiment; the more experiments the better.” 😁
