When I chose the bottom photograph/text, I perhaps suspected, but had no evidence, that Douglas Court is in Ireland. After hitting publish, I went to look it up and found — indeed it is in Cork. And Eoin is an Irish name!

I suspect St. Patrick's day is top of mind because at the grocery yesterday I walked past, then took a few steps back, to squeeze a loaf of Irish soda bread. My eyes drank in a package of frosted hot crossed buns and also frosted shamrock cookies. Ugh! Holidays and their never ending sweet siren calls. I did not have a paczki in 2023. :(

Okay, you convinced me. I got out a box of Irish soda bread mix for Friday. Now just a quick run to the store for buttermilk... ☘️
(Or just milk, a little vinegar makes decent buttermilk for baking.)
