Calliope rolls a paintbrush betwixt her thumb and forefinger. “But she said…”
“She did.” Nia’s face is straighter than Cupid’s arrow. “So what.”
“Our ex-peeeee-re-antz paints a difff-rhent picture,” Thalia teases life into the turtle’s shell. “True freedom lies on the other side of ‘Do it my way.’”
If you are going to regard my stuff as some kind of gospel or dogma, stop. Take it out and burn it. Now. Instead, gather interesting thoughts from a variety of sources and disciplines, then BE YOUR OWN GURU.”
~Lt.Col. John Boyd USAF
Once upon a time Loveletterist relied on others to tell her how to think, be, and do.
Then a friend told her that to be of any use to others, she needed to lead herself first.
Doing so is painting a colorful life on the canvas.
John Boyd, USAF, must have regarded some things as gospel or dogma... to become a Lt. Colonel. 😉 IMHO, we are all living exceptions to absolutes.
BTW, that’s a fine pair of turtles you drew. Is the one that appears “albino” just awaiting its chance to shine? Not unlike many of we humans. Perhaps it needs to turn off dogma and gospel? I somehow imagine little of either pervading the Boenning/Muse studio these days?☺️ Something dredged up from the swamp?
