A note from LoveLetterist:

The image... could be better? Or worse?

We spent a lot of time in the arena with it... daring greatly.

😁

And you?

Where are you employing effort to empower your feelings of self-worth?

Wow...great persistence. I'm letting my creative juices flow...found something to create with all the maple leaves I dried out. (thanksgiving day cards to my siblings) YIPPEE. Thank you for the inspiration.

I’d estimate 75% of our leaves are down now. Temps in the 20s overnight. Possible snow this week!

Winter… she comes.

They are calling for snow here too! Bundle up time is approaching. Motion is lotion will be what gets me to step outside. :)

A stinging question! I know you know spending a scintilla of our time with self-judgment and condemnation is way not what works. Declines in my power, speed, inventiveness, strength, and noggin power has so inclined me to fraught comparisons of current me with a three year younger me.

Silly! Right? Currently unable to turn out some wood items - bluebird boxes, drying racks, etc. - leaves little upon which to build self worth. We visited with my son, his wife, and granddaughter today. Pumpkin carving was one planned activity. Except the postures, crouching and twisting (ever wrestled an unruly pumpkin??) left me barely capable of carving one face. Far from what I hoped for! Far from my expectations. Embarrassing. A poor basis for enhancing self-worth or developing or increasing gratitude. 😐

Egads! Are stinging questions welcome?

Just this morning Julie over at Run to Write posted a poem: motion is lotion.

I suspect your continuing efforts to get out in nature to walk Iz are empowering? The joy of watching her run while crunching a discarded water bottle?

Glad to hear you had a day with family! Carving pumpkins has never been a favorite activity for me. What kind of face did you make?

All questions are welcome! Responses lie outside your control. 🤷🏽 The faces originated from a pack of stencils that Raven had purchased. I’ll just say that nothing about the stencils was ordinary or easy! Beth free handed a face design that included cat whiskers! Eyes with reptile slit pupils...

The discomfort from getting out in Nature to walk Izzie is so uncomfortable both during and after the walk that I harbor some dread to do so. For our pre-bedtime walk last night, when I attempted to climb an embankment for a moon/satellite set of photos, lack of traction caused by a new layer of long leaf pine tree needles nearly took me down. Afterwards I was certain that my leg and arm motions must have resembled the “inflate/deflate” devices that draw attention to a new business or (going out of business) event. I felt much like the latter event.

The passing time since last night leaves me with an odd variety of gratitude. Grateful I didn’t fall over backwards and break some bones, or worse.

At least I might have been ready for “El dia de los muertos” starting on November 1.

Lesson for today? Don’t climb the bank. And beware the full moon!
