“Do you have an idea that makes you gasp with delight?
This morning I read… What feels like a hobby may turn into your life’s work. 🤔”
I believe my little “Impermanent Earth Art” hobby is and will become my lifelong work. Doesn’t really feel fair to call it work though, because it brings me so much JOY! “Wheeee!”
Now that I’ve created my “WonderBox” I also have a sacred place to keep the curiosities I discover while out wandering and wondering.
It will hold goodies like the giant seed pod I discovered for example. I also added a feather 🪶 I recently discovered, oh, and a sand dollar from my Oregon trip. So many goodies…
Gail, you’re off to a running start this Monday morning. Panting. Not quite keeping up... but delighted just the same! I like your mixture of thoughts on patience,
for processes to occur in their own time, while flipping through ideas quicker than a card shark shuffles the deck!
“White board” set my mind a-Googling. I wasn’t sure if a white board differs from a grease board?! The term I use. All-knowing Google says they are indeed one and the same. Yet white board sounds so fresh, so unsullied by haphazard erasing. 🤷🏽
I should at least wipe off the bacon drippings from my board if I hope to keep a legible record of ideas.
On the notion of gasping with delight over an idea, let’s say the gasping is mostly the result of keeping up with your pace!🏃♀️ I have decided to be the birthday cake baker/decorator for my wife’s and son’s birthdays mid August. The baker I had hoped to hire will be traveling at that time. Then I realized that expanding horizons can start with a baking project that stretches my skill set just enough to be rewarding. (I’m typically a 13x9 sheet pan cake baker) Besides, licking the beaters is one sport I excel in! I might even emit an “Eeee!” sound like Tal.🤷🏽🤗
The great thing about the whiteboard is it’s erasable!
Stretching our skill sets just enough to be rewarding… thank you for sharing that. A friend once told me, “What is small to the bear looms large to the ant.” Cannot tell you how many times that phrase has helped me when I’ve caught myself comparing my progress to another’s.
Thalia thinks licking beaters should be an instruction on all cake/frosting recipe cards.

Step 7: Lick beaters.
T-shirt: “FIRST RULE OF PASSIVE-AGGRESSIVE CLUB IS… y’know what, never mind, it’s fine, it’s just FINE!” 😁
(Doesn’t tie to anything, I just think it’s cute.)
Hahaha!
Love the mix of all caps and lowercase to demonstrate tone!
Thanks, Gail! The original buttons, t-shirts, and signs use fonts and font sizes to convey tone — I can't *quite* capture that , but I can try!
Another thing to be grateful for as a writer— all of the amazing tools computers/programs/platform give user to make our art more expressive.
I cannot imagine typing/writing on a typewriter! 😂
