Taking “al fresco” to extremes. Someone once asked rhetorically what lies behind our dog’s eyes. I took that to reference “dogs” before domestication. Perhaps the stormy conditions prompted Henny to channel those vibes?🤷🏽
I’ll see you a dog and raise you a wall. What if dogs do talk but speak a language we simply don’t yet understand? What if walls could talk? Can you imagine all they would share? What if they do talk but not in our presence. What if the walls got involved in a heated conversation and failed to notice their inhabitants return? Might he or she hear THEM talking amongst themselves?
Of course they can talk...
Can you imagine all the things walls have seen?
Perhaps what limits us is our own inhibition to believe?
If walls had names, what would they be? Simple? Elaborate? Directional? And what about windows, doors, desks, mirrors?
What would East say to West?
Would they talk about the sun?
Hmmm? 🤔

Okay… I mis-spoke. I’m aware Henrietta is communicating at all times. Each of my dogs has and that’s why Wandering Words was dedicated to them.
What I might have said instead is — If only I had a secret decoder ring to pull out the lessons she’s trying to convey. 😂 And I do… it’s just slow going… takes a nuanced, attentive approach.
I just wrote a vignette about Henny… How she preferred being out in the storm last night to being in the house where it was dry and warm. Whoa!
