I saw a cute video yesterday of a sick Cockatoo whose last owner had passed. Moved from one veterinarian to an animal hospital, the bird began to recover. She became talkative, inquisitive. A scene showed the bird snatching everything out of a large drawer. Pencils and pens. What looked like surgical instruments? He set to work, emptying it out. Busy bird.
Did you catch the date on the Medium piece? 2017! I was just beginning to learn how to write dialogue and it shows! That said… how encouraging to see how much I’ve grown.
The Nietzsche quote also resonates with my personal truth and yet there are times/situations where speed of judgement is necessary. I’m thinking of the pilot Sully who successfully landed a plane full of passengers on water. That said… he had many, many hours of training and experience to draw on.
Hey Bobby! Don’t breath a word of this! Going to Medium to explore the linked “One hundred naked words” story, when finished I scrolled on down. Yikes!! She divulged that she had fallen for a Japanese fisherman... and asked if she should tell Greg! The proverbial sticky wicket. But there’s something fishy about that. 😐
In 1974, Warren Zevon commented on Thalia: “She’s an excitable girl.” Ok I did change the gender from his song, but the reference still seems to apply.
The quote by Nietzsche was excellent instruction! “One must not respond immediately to a stimulus;” Video gamers might lodge a strong objection to that notion. For the rest of us that don’t play “Grand Theft Auto,” the wise counsel retains its value.
On days that Cal’s captivated by Nature, does she have a pair of binoculars? Oops! To remain faithful to Nietzsche, though, a broken-in “introspector” might be of higher value. 🤷🏽
With your studio stocked with art supplies, books, and laptop, the possibilities are limitless. 😉
I haven’t played video games since middle school PacMan. Except for a try or two at Angry Birds when it was popular. I am much more tortoise than hare and as a result, my video characters often perished in a blink.
Yes! I am blessed with creative supplies, impulses, and ideas. The possibilities are indeed endless!
Getting out the pencils and sketch pad this morning was a fun adventure!

The Nietzsche quote is both #Spectacular AND the #Truth. At least for me...
I do understand that #Truth is subjective...
