“Ohhhhhhh myyyyy galoshes!” Thalia unzipped her parka. Curls tumbled free from her hat. “It’s getting dark already! Whaaaaaaar’d this day go?!” Nia noted the days events with a finger count. “Eight a.m. zoom call, haircut at nine, major grocery shopping, unpack and put away the haul, quick lunch, Henny to the dog park, catch up on messages and mail, Henny outside for a potty break which Typist turned into a leg stretch —”
“Are you smiling back at the little fighter pictured above?” ~Typist
Yes! At my annual event 🚴🏼♂️ there is a section dedicated to the childhood survivors. It’s called the “Miracle Mile.” I will text a picture to you for context! It’s #Amazing 🙌🏼 Wonder-Full 😎🚴🏼♂️🎨
That photo is a beautiful way to start my day. I'm smiling back for sure! And when do we get a photo of your shaped-up hair, Gail?
Also, thanks for reminder about donating blood. I was a regular for years until my own health issues made it difficult, but I've been thinking lately that I'm well enough to start up again. Maybe that will be my Christmas present to myself--to share the gift of life.
Ah, yes, the magical disappearing reply! I specialize in doing that. 🤷🏽 Anyone know an “undo” using an iPhone?
Just the same, from the little girl-cancer free-at the top down to typist’s haircut today and what it also symbolizes, it’s not hard to see reasons to celebrate the day, the season.
T-shirt: “All men should make coffee for their women. It says so right in the Bible: ‘Hebrews’” 😁
One of the things I looked forward to in retirement (oddly enough, considering my fear of needles) is giving blood (O+). I had to go on iron supplements to be accepted (never had that problem in my youth <hrmph!>) but the last three attempts were all acceptable. I have learned to book with the blood mobile organization (Central Penn Blood Bank) as they are fast, efficient, and have fewer people around so I fret less about COVID et al exposure. And I have an excuse to eat pretzels while I wait in the post-donation area! 😊

I look forward to seeing the new you! And very cool about your blood having such purpose. That inspires me even more.
