I love the details of the bridge! In my thoughts on same, the bridge serves metaphorically as the connector of our “present” with our “future.” Much as Gibran’s archer and bow symbolizes the connection between present behaviors and future outcomes.
What resulted in Nia’s negativity regarding yesterday? Too much sun? The inability to foresee or affect the tournament’s outcome? Lack of the calculus to predict the kid’s result for his efforts? Lack of a fishing rod and reel and experience with same? 😊

Nia meant to convey that she might not have been able to imagine the event as fascinating and fun. Then! The actual experience for her was awesome!
There were stats involved! The kid took 28th which was one place shy of any pay out. This did not dim his attitude or enthusiasm because said placement raised his level in point standings considerably and now he might have a shot at getting into the regionals.
One of the things I continue to be most humbled by is the kid’s acceptance of using the tools he has. He is significantly outgunned by boat and electronics and yet he does not complain. He continues to outfish much of the competition with what he’s got.
