A note from LoveLetterist:

In middle school I had math teacher who used to tease me by calling me gusty, windy... and other weather related terms -- a play on gale/Gail.

He always teased with a mischevious smile and a twinkle in his eye.

(Maybe he could see that some day I'd grow into a force of nature to be reckoned with. ;))

I must have mentioned this to my father who told me, "Gail -- They wouldn't tease you if they didn't like you."

And that gift of a phrase -- that framing -- has impacted my thinking and relationships ever since.
