Urania pulled Drawing Lab by Carla Sondheim from the shelf. “Hmmm… faces, faces, faces.”

“Where are our frocks, frocks, frocks?” Cal asked.

“I do not wear frocks!” Thalia scowled. “Frocks are frumpy.”

“They are?” Cal puzzled. “When our friend from India used the word this morning I intuited he meant feminine attire… like dresses.”

“Yeah… like housecoats,” Tal polished her fresh painted nails on her crisp linen pant leg.

“Words have different shades of meaning — fueled by a person’s life experience and environment,” said Nia. “One girl’s frock is another’s gown. An on-line search of the word offers anything from party dresses to brown monk robes.”
