The trio’s morning inbox is a treasure trove of wide and varied explorations.

Thalia reads an article about female archetypes.

Calliope forwards an article about grand parenting to a friend who has a new baby in her life.

Urania gobbles insights from a short video about why choosing our friends matters.

Henny interrupts flow with a whimper and a beseeching brown stare.

Nią glances at the clock — 9:36. “How’d that happen?”

Focus is the cost of excellence.
~ Shane Parrish

“Leopards and knee high grass

Butterflies and elephants...”

Sung to the tune of “Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows,” from 1963, by Leslie Gore.

My sentimental jukebox is working overtime...

And, yes, I liked your art today. Another illustration for the children’s book?

I checked out what Thalia was reading about Feminine Archetypes, and guess what! No, I’m not a goddess. 🤭 Beth has become part of a group of women that occasionally holds “Goddess Gatherings.” The gathering spot is, by Beth’s descriptions, a house that’s spacious, nicely appointed, and has a large lawn with a pool behind the house. It’s not lived in and was built as an Air B&B. The owner knows some of the Goddesses that gather and generously allows use of the house gratis. So the reading Tal was pouring over offered a nice review of the goddess traits in the discussion of overall female archetypes.

I forced myself to pull back on the reins of the elephant 🙃 and continue reading the rest of your post. I feel certain there are gems awaiting in the links to grand parenting and choosing friends.

Shane Parrish’s quote spoke to me. He did not write, “Distraction is the cost of living accidentally.” My mother’s parents would remind my brother and I, “The road to hell is paved with good intentions.” Gruff, old Germans were granted license to utter such truths. 🤨 They also spoke of “pinning folks’ ears back.” They seemed to have a catechism for right living... “Children are to be seen and not heard.” We’d sit in straight-backed chairs along a wall in the dining room... and watch/listen to adults converse. Maddening!

Now to concentrate on elephant bling!
