I’ve known your Three Muses long enough, Gail, that I have to remember to call them by their right and proper names, well suited to this post.

Thalia has always been the high-spirited and adventuresome one. Her core temperature must be close to 104° making the snow and very cold conditions a push toward our normal set points.

Your thoughtful offer to the delivery driver has “You” written all over it. You’ve likely seen more than one such truck spin tires, lurch off the pavement and into your winter lawn highlighted by frost heave! One more task for the resident grounds keeper.

Despite the bitter cold your creative thinking and acts haven’t slowed one bit! Brava!

I bow to the fortitude of delivery drivers… especially in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Between the volume and the weather here, they have to be feeling a bit pinched.

“Delivery vehicles as bathrooms” is one of several stressors during such times. Loss of sleep + high stress over meeting expectations blast peace of mind!

Wo unto family life, too.

I hadn’t thought about the bathroom bit. I can say our county park system is quite phenomenal and I have seen all kinds of “drivers” making use of the public restrooms. Now I’m wondering about the sticker/entry fee though…

There are many angles from which to consider such work? I used to have conversations with a regular UPS driver (Carl) who loved the overtime pay. For some perhaps it is a stepping stone?

All kinds of kinds?

What number book is this for you, Gail? Soon you'll need to build an extra shelf to hold them all! As for the landscape guy, he's lucky to be unharmed.

Lucky #14! 😁

Yeah… his reaction was probably as automatic as my scowl. I did throw it in reverse and get close enough to yell out my window… “I just didn’t want you to hurt you.”

I’m sure he found it life altering. 😂

Thanks Julie! 😊

It felt amazing to have an itch to write a post. I’d forgotten sport of having an idea like that on the line. 🎣

Keep spreading your kindness, Gail. We all need it, especially the guy who swore at you. I'm very curious about that scene!

Ahhh! You are referencing the text below the artwork! :)

The muses have written a second book titled Behind the Lines. I am awaiting the proof copy and hoping to publish by mid-December. The “new” book is largely comprised of artwork created on pages torn from their first book: Meandering Muses

After failed attempts with watercolor paint, I found chalk pastels work on the thin paper.

The swearing guy? He walked around the backside of his big landscape truck into the oncoming path of me and Henny in Truck. I had to slam on my brakes. Henny went flying. I scowled. He yelled, “Don’t make a face at me you $&@@ .(?!’k!” Or something like that. 🤷🏻‍♀️
