A salmon sliver showed itself on the eastern horizon.
Thalia and Henny pulled like children hearing The Entertainer blasting through ice cream truck speakers. “C’mon — c’mon! Let’s goooooooo!” Thalia just knew in her heart there’d be at least one returned caregiver reply in today’s mail.
Cal rubbed sleep from her eyes. “It’s five-thirty in the morning Tal… our mailman comes in the afternoon. Slow down… please?” Adjusting her knit hat under its double hood Calliope asked, “Don’t you love how he always waves… and smiles back at us through his open truck window?”
“Yes.” Urania answered. “We won’t be seeing him today though — honoring the Presidents.”
Rivers know this: there is no hurry. We shall get there some day."

On the business of Presidents’ Day, George Washington was born almost 300 years ago! As a child we celebrated just two Presidents. Lincoln on Feb 12 and Washington on Feb 22. While both outstanding in their service to the United States, the spirit of inclusion today acknowledges the service of all.
Perhaps taking the approach of inclusion for all, from sea to shining sea, (Nicked from America The Beautiful), could foster a sense of togetherness instead of against-ness. (Cobbled together for dramatic effect😬)
Focusing on inclusion at writer/painter/typist’s/cancer-warrior’s level, the spirit of inclusion, team membership, and participation may next yield important elements for “The Book.” You’ve probably already proposed a title(s), and I’ve forgotten them all. Not for a lack of interest but for “storage” complications. 🤷🏽 😔
I expect to hear Tal’s shouts of glee around this time tomorrow!
T-shirt: “Anyone who says their wedding was the best day of their life has clearly never had 2 candy bars fall down at once from a vending machine.” 😁
I thought the holiday celebrated mattresses and furniture at incredible discounts? 😉
